Nobel Committee Asked To Strip Obama Of Peace Prize

A message has been widely retweeted on Twitter today: "Obama has now fired more cruise missiles than all other Nobel Peace prize winners combined."

The Bolivian President and a Russian political leader have launched a campaign to revoke Obama's honour after the US attacked Libya. Liberal Democratic Party of Russia leader and Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky released a statement today calling for the Nobel Prize Committee to take back the honour bestowed on US President Barack Obama in 2009.  Zhirinovsky said the attacks were "another outrageous act of aggression by NATO forces and, in particular, the United States," and that the attacks demonstrated a "colonial policy" with "one goal: to establish control over Libyan oil and the Libyan regime." He said the prize was now hypocritical as a result.  Bolivian President Evo Morales echoed the call: "How is it possible that a Nobel Peace Prize winner leads a gang to attack and invade? Obama should return the Nobel Prize...

Flashback - Congressman Ron Paul - December 10, 2009

As the U.S prepares to send more troops to the war in Afghanistan, Barack Obama's in Norway to receive his Nobel Peace Prize, awarded in October.  The Nobel Committee said it wanted to praise Obama's efforts to strengthen diplomacy and co-operation between nations.  But for many, the 44th U.S. president was a surprise choice.  Republican Congressman Ron Paul says Obama's recent war plans show he shouldn't have been awarded the peace prize.

Jct: Yes, when I get my last-ever Nobel Peace Prize for UNILETS interest-free timebanking software (once peace is engineered why keep giving prizes for trying? or not really trying?) it would be nice if Barack GuantanamObama's name were no longer there.

Depends, Gomp. A 2007 Al Gore stamp will run you about $12, but it's cheesier than all get out...

The real action is in the 1-oz silver Nobel Peace Prize coins. A 1978 Anwar Sadat piece is going for about $30 over spot when you factor in shipping...

No problem, Gomp, I love the purity of ebay's price data. Now that gold is hitting new nominal highs, check out the premiums on coins, particularly the smaller ones...

DB, that link above on the MSM spinning Dimon is outstanding. Calling Maria Bartiromo a journalist is a total joke.
