Trump Won't Appoint Special Prosecutor In Clinton Case

TRUMP GOES SOFT ON CLINTON

The announcement this morning was vague. Dissected carefully, it seemed to imply only one thing--that Trump had decided not to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton for her private email server. The ongoing FBI investigation into possible corruption at the Clinton Foundation was not mentioned. However, later in the day during a sit-down with the New York Times, Trump did include the Foundation in a broader statement about not prosecuting Clinton.

There are three NYT stories in response to the meeting, all worth reading:

Trump veers off script on climate change, his potential conflicts of interest and even whether to prosecute Clinton

I think Trump is trying to take his personality out of the issue--which is politically expedient but legally perhaps not significant. Problems with CF implicate so many areas of law that a US president cannot do anything about. I doubt, for example, that he would overrule an IRS determination that it failed to satisfy the tests for non-profit status going back two administrations.

Great to see you here. You are right that much of this is out of Trump's control. It is Sessions who will decide if there is enough evidence to prosecute the Clinton Foundation, and the IRS office in Dallas (that's already investigating) will decide on related tax matters.

The race for president in Michigan got closer Tuesday once counties submitted their official results to the state, but Republican Donald Trump still remains the president-elect in Michigan, as well as the rest of the nation.

I don' t know who commented on DB when Hillary looked like death--not to give it to her, it's calculated move. I know he was right, but just did not know what was calculation there. Now I know. She realized that Trump can totally go after her and she wanted to be pitiful looking haggard old lady. He should not allow this. She will come back and go against him, she will hurt him. I think Clinton wreaked havoc on Obama administration. He was too nonchalant and made a big gesture after loosing to him to appoint her to his administration. I bet he regretted that. Clintons are dangerous rabid and they should be locked up so they can do minimal damage--together with their cronies. LOCK THEM UP!!!!

Good points, also a continued investigation would help keep Chelsea on the political sidelines. There are stories that she will run for Congress in NY in 2018.

CALM, CALM, Trump never said he would not prosicute. Pay attention people, even if he did, he can have the AG do this. He did not get this far being fooled. I am anxiously awaiting the SOS Announcement. Will it be Romney? Will it be Rudy. So far his choices are very good. The department of Education is an excellent pick. She is rolling in her own money and does not need Government bennies, vacations or goodies. I like the idea of all these self sufficient picks.
Now, if he can stay away from Wall Street for Treasury, it could be the dream team.

GO TRUMP!

Psychopaths can regret bad decisions—but don't learn from them

http://medicalxpress.com/news/2016-11-psychopaths-bad-decisionsbut-dont....

Psychopaths do experience regret, particularly when their bad decisions affect them directly—yet they don't use that experience to inform their future choices, according to a new study published the week of Nov. 28 in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
