His Name Is Congressman Hank Johnson, And He Is An Imbecile (Absolute Must See Clip)

UPDATE Friday 12:05 pm:  A helpful reader has informed us that Congressman Johnson is suffering from advanced liver disease as a result of Hepatitis C.

The story below should be viewed in that context.  Confusion and disorientation are symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy which can occur when the liver loses function.

-----

The comedy begins early this morning.  Allow me to tell a short family story.  My aunt, Sylvia Graham, (my mother's next older sister -- pictured above winning the 2000 Women's Bass Fishing National Championship) was recruited in 2006 at the young age of 69 to run for the Indiana General Assembly (the Statehouse) by local party officials.  During the campaign, before her first visit to meet with state party leaders, she was warned to be prepared that some of those she would meet might not be very intelligent, and that she should make sure not to make any sarcastic remarks or make fun of them.  It runs in the family.

Now to the point.  Earlier this week, we got a taste of the incomprehensible stupidity that freely roams the halls of Capitol Hill, and in this case, even gets to cast one of 535 votes on all matters of national importance.  He is Congressman Hank Johnson, and he is an imbecile.

Please watch the following:

Can We Get A Mandatory IQ Test For Congress?

Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson worries loading too many people onto Guam could capsize the island.  This is not a joke.  Johnson will undoubtedly be re-elected in a landslide this Fall.

---

From the LA Times

First, before you watch this short but remarkable video, a little background on Democratic Rep. Hank Johnson.

He's from Georgia's Fourth District. A Washington, D.C. native, he's the fellow who took office in 2007 after knocking off former five-term Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney.

A former county judge, the 55-year-old is an attorney, and he has received 100 ratings from the ADA and ACLU.

In this House Armed Services Committee hearing last Friday (no, it wasn't April Fool's Day), Johnson was questioning Admiral Robert Willard, head of the U.S. Pacific fleet, about the stationing of 5,000 additional U.S. Marines and their families on the western Pacific island of Guam, a 212-square-mile American territory that is 30 miles long and from four to 12 miles wide.

Of course, since Johnson is one of 535 members of the United States Congress, everything he says is important. But pay particular attention to the congressman's comments starting at the 1:16 mark and the pregnant pause after his stated concern and hand gestures.

Followed by the admiral's admirably measured military response.

Also, remember you are paying Congressman Johnson's salary this year -- $174,000.

Featured comment from Gompers:

When I first saw this a few days ago I spit my beer all over the place laughing. If I had been answering the question I would have responded that we would seperate the marines into 4 groups of 2 thousand matched by weight, on the four corners of Guam to prevent tipping. And since the Marines are officially part of the Navy, they would be adequately trained to bail and would be issued buckets in the event of an emergency...

TOP TALKER: “Goldman Sachs Group Inc. … has hired a former New York Times reporter as the bank moves to burnish its image and navigate Washington regulation. Stephen Labaton, who reported on the financial crisis for the Times before leaving the newspaper in December, confirmed that he's been hired by New York-based Goldman Sachs as a full-time consultant on regulatory and legal issues. Labaton said he will work in Washington and New York, reporting to top executives including Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein. … Labaton, 48, joined the Times in 1986 as a news clerk after graduating from law school. During his reporting career, he worked mainly in the newspaper's Washington bureau, covering regulators including the Securities and Exchange Commission. His job with Goldman Sachs won't involve lobbying, he said.”

I think Hank has a point. If the island were to capsize, it could sink, or worse, float away and fall off the edge of the earth. If that happens, it could then fly through space and hit the moon which is made out of soft cheese. Obviously, Guam could make a huge hole in the moon.

DB…Socialism is a mental disorder. He is the product of public schooling no doubt. With Obamacare, guys with his mental acuity will be scrubbing for your surgery. I am not at all surprised by his ignorance. We see it every day on the news.

This guy has a law degree and was a Judge in Georgia? I guess it does not take much to pass The Georgia Bar but I believe he was in the wrong type of bar.

I love the flat earth society, they are after all, everywhere... Mr. Johnson is perhaps a scholar in Sumerian cuniform, as Ken was, believing that the imminent return of Niburu will destroy us all...

The guy is sick. He has severe liver damage as a result of Hepatitis C.

http://www.ajc.com/news/u-s-rep-hank-230506.html

When you loose liver function, you can develop hepatic encophalopathy:

<<Hepatic encephalopathy is a condition that develops when the liver is unable to break down toxins normally found in the bloodstream, such as ammonia. In this condition, confusion or even coma are caused by toxins that build up in the blood. In the early stages, there may be mild symptoms, such as difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much. Advanced hepatic encephalopathy can cause confusion, delirium, and even coma. Hepatic encephalopathy can develop suddenly and may become a medical emergency.>>

Rather than calling him a knucklehead, we should be sensitive to his afliction, and suggest he resign his position as he's not competently serving his constituents.

Sooo 'LouA' ..doing a little DAMAGE CONTROL are we?. Trying to make your dear Mr. Johnson seem a little less STUPID than he really is? How long have you been working for him?

Well, too bad your 'cry me a river' approach to making excuses for this dimwit are completely LAME. Newsflash; Hepatic encephalopathy causes LIVER damage...*NOT* STUPIDITY.

If he's INDEED so 'ill' that he babbles and mumbles and believes the tooth fairy is REAL, then maybe he should RENOUNCE his position and go get himself some professional FUCKING PSYCHIATRIC HELP.

@DB

I CAN'T BELIEVE how easily swayed you were into forgiving Hank Johnson's STUPIDITY.

If he truly IS so ill as to believe one can actually TIP AN ISLAND then he is NO LONGER FIT FOR SERVICE. The American people DO NOT need mentally-challenged congressional representatives conducting 'fact-finding' hearings.

SO EITHER WAY, ill or not, this douchebag NEEDS TO *GO*.

Gompers you are sooooo out of touch with modern protocol .First we would have to hire a panel to hire a private firm
to do research for the gov ont the big scam known as global warming .

I will say if the guy has medical problems why is he still there ? If anyone of us thought a island would capsize how long would
we be making 174k Well we dont work for the Gov.

And my liver has seen more abuse than one can imagine and i feel fine :) Gomp can verifyLOL He drinks diet beer.

Apr 9, 2010 at 7:57 PM | Unregistered CommenterZarathustra
Actually, he is displaying other signs of liver failure as well. The scratching and restlessness of his hands are also symptoms. I just watched my mom die from liver failure and can say you will see the strangest mental behavior ever from someone who appears completely conscious. I would basically describe it as dreams making their way into the conscious mind.
