UPDATE: Goldman Sachs Criminal Investigation

Share

We will utilize this 'tracking post' as the primary means of updating stories on the Justice Department's criminal investigation into Goldman Sachs as well as the SEC civil case.  Whenever I post a new story, I will move this post to the top of the site, which is the cue that something has been added inside.

The newest stories will always be at the top.

As a default, please consider that each story has been hand picked for a reason.  To stay informed, read them all.

"Nor was he forthcoming about the odds of a deal for Greece. At stake in the first instance are European bank loans to Greece ($190 billion), Portugal ($240 billion) and Spain ($840 billion). That's a nifty $1.2 trillion exposure to the economically vulnerable European nations."

"The vulnerable economies must step up the reforms they need to rein in deficits and boost growth. Portugal, especially, needs action. The European Central Bank should demonstrate that it has the tools to maintain liquidity even if there is panic."

"Oil-Spill Fight Bogs Down "

Get ready for $3.50 gas real soon... Which do you think was cheaper, the half a million dollar seismic valve that was considered to expensive, or the clean up that will be rolled onto the backs of the consumer...

"Arizona Deputy shot; illegal immigrants suspected"

We are in the midst of an invasion, if you do not believe that, try sneaking illegally into Mexico and see how you are received.

I love the jail suits.

We can only hope gas stops at $3.50 a gallon, you are an optimist. How much cash does BP have? I have a feeling that BP is in trouble.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER...

May 2 (Bloomberg) -- Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s Warren Buffett praised Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein and said the bank shouldn’t be blamed for losses suffered by clients who invested in mortgage bets at the center of a fraud suit filed by regulators.

“He’s done a great job running that firm,” Buffett said yesterday in Omaha, Nebraska, in a Bloomberg Television interview before Berkshire’s annual shareholders meeting. He said he supports Blankfein “100 percent.”

Steve Sailer's iSteve Blog...

Where are Obama's old girlfriends?

But we seem to be lacking in outside evidence for the President having a romantic relationship with a human female before about his 28th birthday.

In Dreams from My Father, he makes references to a serious girlfriend whom he dropped after a year because she was white (although various readers have complained that this character seems more stylized than realistic). He also claims he chose Occidental College because it was in Los Angeles, where a tourist girl he'd met was from.

" We can only hope gas stops at $3.50 a gallon, you are an optimist. How much cash does BP have? I have a feeling that BP is in trouble."

Not an optimist Gobie, I know how this works. BP will not be paying for this, you and I will, and the accolades, bonuses, and promotions will abound...

All because safety is "to expensive", just like Toyota, do you really think they ate the fine (which would affect top tier bonus structures), or made it a pass through cost straight to consumers who buy their vehicles? Follow the money... The Goobermint will be involved in the cleanup, and we will be hit from that side as well. The Queen will sit pretty in all this, and some mid level managers may be thrown to the sharks, but the rest will end up promoted to their maximum level of incompetency within a few short years.

This will however probably force the use of seismic valves in the future, which would only affect the cost by a few cents per gallon at most. Versus what you will see coming now.

Chinese wells will probably be exempt, you should be glad of that.

Anybody find it amusing that in like the first week they were saying there was no leak, I wonder how they planned on hiding it, LOL.

-------

Had that thought...they assumed the submarines would be able to trigger the valve to shut and that no one would find out...once the subs didn't work, they were forced to tell the truth...

BP will spend $10 billion in the clean up before it's over...estimate now is $5 billion...

I sure am glad we all have bottomless pockets, it helps me sleep easier at night. Every candidate runs saying they will reduce taxes, but mine have gone up with every administration, try meeting the Alternative Minimum Tax sometime...

http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=150703,00.html

"In 1986, when President Ronald Reagan and both parties on Capitol Hill agreed to a major change in the tax system, the law was subtly changed to aim at a wholly different set of deductions, the ones that everyone gets, like the personal exemption, state and local taxes, the standard deduction, certain expenses like union dues and even some medical costs for the seriously ill. At the same time it removed and revised some of the exotic investment deductions. A law for untaxed rich investors was refocused on families who own their homes in high tax states."

"BP will spend $10 billion in the clean up before it's over...estimate now is $5 billion... "

The Goobermint will pay much more, and BP's portion will be a pass through cost to us.
