National Debt Is Growing Like Green Shoots Fertilized By Pit Bulls With Intestinal Issues ( Debt Milestone: $11.5 Trillion Yesterday)
Now the bad news. The United States Federal Debt crossed $11.5 trillion this week.
For a bit of perspective. We labored for 216 years as a nation before getting to the $1 trillion mark around 1991. And in the 18 short years since, we have grown our debt from $1 trillion to $11.5 trillion.
And don't forget that when you count our unfunded liabilities for social security and medicare, that the real national debt is greater than $55 trillion.
Sorry to ruin your weekend, though painful, we must constantly remind ourselves of the truth.
