Why Charlottesville Is The First U.S. City To Outlaw Drones

Two words - Thomas Jefferson.

Disclosure: I graduated from the University of Virginia.

Charlottesville, Virginia, home to Thomas Jefferson and the University of Virginia, has a long history of being a voice for freedom.  Now it can add freedom from drones to the list, as Charlottesville's anti-drone resolution is the first of its kind in the nation.  The resolution, which passed by a 3 to 2 vote, calls on the Virginia General Assembly and Congress to adopt legislation barring information obtained from drones from being used court-- and the city itself has adopted such a ban locally.  The measure also endorses a proposed two year moratorium on drones in Virginia.

The man whom the administration has put up to head the CIA would not say whether or not the president of the United States has the power to order the extrajudicial killing of a United States citizen within the borders of the United States.  And the hearing, remarkably, went on as though nothing untoward had happened.

...I grew up in a family of insane, corrupt law enforcement folks...and was always amazed at the level of corruption that existed on a local level....then.....as a low-level employee of the US DoD...almost 25 years ago....I witnessed remarkable degrees of corruption...over the most minor-league issues...and I was amazed at how prevalent the corruption was...when I became a Federally Protected Whistle-Blower...I thought they would really protect me..instead of delivering on the threats that had been made against me and which I had secretly tape-recorded....so for decades I've been trying to tell people how corrupt their own government is....but you know, we are all just tin-foil-hat-wearing-crazy people...eh? BTW...how's that Bill-of-Rights fairing these days?

I know an Air Force pilot who dreads flying drones. It wasn't why he went to college; it isn't why he is serving his nation; but it is the only job availabe for him to use the skills he was born and trained to use. a What a waste. First time a Patriotic American is killed in America, by a Patriotic American military pilot flying a drone made by Patriotic American civilian, the line between enemies will be forever grayed. BAN DRONES IN AMERICA or SERIOUSLY LIMIT THEIR CAPACITY TO BE USED AS A TOOL OF DEATH.
