Video: Is The Dollar Done As The World's Reserve Currency? (Bloomberg Interview With World Bank President Robert Zoellick)

Nicely-done 2 part sit-down from Tuesday with Bloomberg's Peter Cook and Robert Zoellick, President of The World Bank.  Summarized, Zoellick supports a strong U.S. Dollar (big shock), but warns that for many reasons the global markets need to work towards an alternative reserve currency.  Will it be the Euro (fat chance), the Yuan-Remninbi, or something entirely new?

Zoellick also places himself into the debate on new financial regulation saying the Treasury and not the Federal Reserve should be granted greater power.  He takes a clean shot at the Fed, labeling the cabal a group of too-powerful technocrats.  Take that Bernanke.

Two-minute summary of Zoellick's speech at Johns Hopkins from Tuesday.

Be very very quiet…the leader of the free world (and the biggest economy – I won’t tell your readers Dailybail) has just lost again. Unemployment is still going up and Barry Soetoro has just demonstrated once again why he is a fraud as world rejects him and Chicago for the Games. Just hype, just hype. You get a car, you get a car, you get a car…Yes We Can!!! Yes We Can!!! Yes We Can!!!

Let’s all sing for change…
We’re gonna spread happiness
We’re gonna spread freedom
Obama’s gonna change it
Obama’s gonna lead ‘em

Okay, now I know that you have banked on the left being your revenue stream DB but you have got to start putting some blame where blame is due…Barry Soetoro. Here is our new song…

We’re gonna start blaming Barry
We’re gonna ask him why
Obama’s gonna be a one-termer
Obama’s gonna lead us until all the children cry

Okay, I have had my fun. Go ahead and hide the truth if it makes you feel better.

Gobias,

That is not the first time an American city has lost a bid for the Olympics. Good to see you celebrating job loss, your Masters would be proud.

If things keep going the way they have been (longer than Jan. 20), hunger will arise as people start losing benefits, and soon we will see the "gnashing of teeth".

The real danger could be the next leader if things continue down this path. As I've stated before, in great turbulent times, madmen arise, because they have something to preach, and the people want to hear... It took years of misery to set the stage for a starving artist to rise to Fuhrer.

Remember your statement of "let them eat cake" a while back? That didn't work well for the last person who used it. Seems she lost her head.

I would like to see a strong dollar, and the FED eliminated. Barry wasn't even a wet dream yet in his fathers eye, as his father wasn't even born yet, in 1913. You are just like the guards at the death camps when tried for their crimes, not my fault, it was da fuhrer!

Gobias,

What are you talking about? Obama --as in BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA -- is mentioned all the time on this site. I'm pretty sure I've called him the Used Car Salesman in Chief, the Tieless One, the Tax Eater in Chief, an idiot, a jerk, arrogant, stupid, etc. and I've never had my comments deleted or edited. I thought it was pretty much a given for most of the folks around here that Obama is an empty suit. He certainly doesn't have any fans. I'm just asking -- what are you talking about? I know you're trying to be provocative, but I don't get it.

I don't get it either james...i think gobias wants obama in every headline...

But i will agree that i took some joy in his massive failure today...only because Obama tried so hard...first sitting President to make a personal plea and Chicago was the first to be voted out...

In brazil we can look at beautiful people and beaches...and chicago would offer fat folks eating hot dogs...

Tough call...

Here is a good post...

Associated Press writes...Despite Obama's fabled charm and powers of persuasion, his in-person plea for Chicago to host the 2016 Summer Games fell flat. It was a hugely embarrassing defeat. His adopted hometown — considered a front-runner heading into Friday's voting — didn't just lose, it took last place, shocking nearly all by getting knocked out in the first round while the remaining three contenders moved on.

Maybe Barry was spent after dealing with the Iran crisis. Let's hug it out bitch.
