The Daily Show Goes Tea-Bagging: Jon Stewart On The Tea Parties

Purely a guess on my part, but I doubt these two protesters are Republicans.  I have never heard of FairTax.org so if I'm wrong, feel free to tar and feather me in comments.

More on the tea party protests from Jon Stewart and The Daily Show. Cody Willard gets appropriately skewered as does everyone else. It's all in good fun. Two videos after the jump.

And pay no attention to the guy screaming "Obama's a fascist" while wearing a UVa lacrosse t-shirt. We think it's Jerry Falwell's son just trying to run a bit of subterfuge.

"I doubt these two protesters are Republicans"

Right, but are they representative of the turnout or some guy(s) with a sign?

Post at Corrente, FWIW:

Glad someone else here reads Corrente besides myself. I've been a lurker for a while over there. Very measured the lads over there are. Thanks for posting the link.

Here's Karl Denninger of Market Ticker on the Tea Parties, on the one he attended in Niceville, Florida, and on why people are so angry.

By the way, in this video Karl offers to come speak at any of the next round of Tea Parties. Got plans for a Tax Protest in your area? If you're looking for a non-partisan, well-informed and properly angry speaker, you could do worse than Karl Denninger.

He's one of the good guys and he's been on our side since Bear Stearns.

Speaking of Bear, in looking for another of Karl's videos I found this. (WARNING: the neo-con formerly known as Glenn Beck appears in this video.)

N.b. If you can't stomach Beck's juvenile nonsense, skip to the 3:00 mark where Karl comes in.

Just for good measure, in case you forgot that we now live in the banana republic formerly known as the U.S. of A, this clip will refresh your memory. (Brad Sherman (D-CA) aka "The Sherminator" makes a cameo in this clip.)

I read Denninger when I have time. Great links as always, James.

@Polish

The Corrente was a great find. He pretty much captures my thoughts perfectly.

Snip:

Its stunning to see how tone deaf "the left" is. Truly stunning. It seems like most of the left does not want to see how people honestly angry at the bailouts can possibly exist at these events. Surely, they have to be crazy nut jobs who want to overthrow the government if they went to this event. But I don't expect much more from progressives who want to treat me like I'm an idiot. Sadly, they are ridiculing the millions of people who may not be Republicans or wingers who are sympathetic to the anti-bailout message and who would be allies in bringing down the gross fraud and corruption. As Kurt Vonnegut would say, So it goes.
