The Daily Bail Web Traffic: Thank You To All Our Amazing Readers

---

Message from the founder:

Click here for the most important video we've ever published at the Daily Bail.  If you agree, post it all over the internet.  Email it to everyone you've ever met.  Use your imagination.  Thank you!

The Daily Bail was launched on January 15th of 2009.  There was no fanfare, no PR blitz, not even a press release.  I just started posting pictures of the failed, over-leveraged and irresponsible, and writing stories.  Patrick.net was the first blogger to notice us and decide to help.  For the first 8 weeks, he would occasionally include one of our stories in his daily links.  Those links helped drive traffic and introduce our anti-bailout cause.  If you are interested, you may take a look at one particular story that drove the most traffic our way in those first 8 weeks.  It is an extremely profane bailout rant from a stock trader in North Carolina.  His rant went viral and tens of thousands came here to see it.

By the beginning of April, we were no longer unknown.  CNN writer Jessica Ravitz (thank you!) mentioned us first in a print story on recession websites.  The editors of RecessionWire (thanks Sara, Lynn and Laura) put us in their particular top 10.  Eric Etheridge of The New York Times profiled one of our editorials on Elizabeth Warren.  Oh yeah, and there was that little Playboy Magazine controversy as well.  I awoke one Saturday morning to find I had been labeled a right-wing astroturf site.  Nice research, Playboy writers.

In May I took a vacation for the first 10 days as the stress was taking its toll.  Yet May was another record month, as our unique visitors grew to 85,000 plus 20,000 or so in unique monthly RSS feed readers.  Our RSS numbers are not included in any of the 'traffic details' below.

And now 5 short days into June, our traffic continues to grow.  More and more readers have been emailing our stories to their friends and helping to spread our anti-bailout message.

Monthly traffic numbers.  Note: we also have complete traffic numbers from google analytics, but those numbers are actually slightly higher than the numbers shown here.  I chose caution and am showing our more conservative traffic figures.  Does not include approximately 20,000 monthly RSS readers.

Daily traffic numbers since May 31 through 10 AM this morning.  Today's numbers are already several thousand higher.  Though it is difficult to extrapolate, we are on our way to 500k page views for June.  All we can say is WOW!

So, again, we say thanks to Patrick, CNN, RecessionWire, and hundreds of other publishers for supporting our crusade.  But mostly we say thanks to you, our readers.  We could not exist without you.

Thanks for YOUR time and efforts. Without this site, folks like the rest of us, would just think we were alone in this world...ranting and raving at our TV's and computer screens....eating up cell minutes trying to educate our friends and family....all the while watching as the fabric of our once GREAT NATION is being torn apart by ignorant, corrupt, and greedy politicians & banksters! Thanks again and KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT......AB

Awesome job with launching the site. You have shown what one person can do when they get angry enough. You deserve your success. Now back to lurking. Thank you.

Nice job. I read you every week and I have sent a few of your stories to retired friends trying to spread the word. This is my first comment. I am a senior with 6 grandkids. Your work means alot. Thanks. And I don't even mind all the bad language. I would probably use expletives if i wrote this stuff too.

I discovered your site today through twitter and Michael Arrington. Your story of growth was interesting. Please continue to fight against the injustices perpetrated upon the taxpayers by the ruling class. It is a bnaking oligarchy that rules this country. We need for them to be exposed and thrown out. I'm not exactly sure how to achieve such a thing, but websites like this one sure as hell can't hurt.

Thank you.

Like all the other commenters I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work. I have never commented before, but your pictures of the kids touched my heart.

Your site is very attractive. It doesn't feel overwhelming when searching around.

Without this site, I'd feel angry, bitter and alone. I don't feel so alone anymore.

For a whole host of reasons, we all really appreciate what you do, Daily Bail. Congrats on your success so far.

Nice traffic numbers. You might very well have higher traffic than Dealbreaker which has mega-advertising and 3 or 4 writers. That is a heck of an achievement. Do you write everything or are there contributors who are anonymous?

Thanks for providing educational humor in these very depressing times. Congratulations on your traffic numbers. Very impressive for a one man show! Wishing you 25K daily unique views.

Spidey.

Today was our best day ever. Over 40,000 uniques. About half coming to see the Fed oversight video and the other half coming straight to the home page. So we are getting some traction.

I bet 1/2 of the views are from CONgressional and SATANatorial staffers sent to check up on what vile vitriol you are spewing....;)

Let's hope so. I want them to be aware of me before I run for office and invade their turf.
