Stephen Colbert On A Comedic Mission Impossible...Like the legendary USO entertainer Bob Hope, Colbert was rarely without a golf club.

Colbert was in Iraq this week earning serious karma graciously entertaining thousands of American troops.  We have quite a bit inside this story: 2 outstanding clips and photos of Stephen with the soldiers, plus a few photographs of Bob Hope and Marilyn Monroe from one of their USO tours. In the first clip SC flies shotgun and does 8-point rolls with the Air Force Thunderbirds.

The 2nd video is a unique production from Comedy Central.  It includes President Obama giving the command live via satellite to shave Colbert's head, as well as short comedic messages from Bill Clinton and both George Bushes.  It has to be the first comedy sketch in history that includes participation from 4 living U.S. Presidents.  I was impressed.

This is the problem with your site, Steve. you have too much great stuff to watch! I have spent an hour already and thre is more I want to see. You really have done an excellent job.

I loved the photo of Marilyn Monroe. Made me feel young again.

Colbert did a tremendous job!

One of my favorite jokes: During Steve's "basic training", he asks before repelling down the wall, "Do I have to do this if I'm gay?"

Good stuff.

Nothing to do with Colbert, but here's Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) on Bloomberg talking about Ken Lewis and the Merrill/BoA deal.

Issa: "[Lewis] is on the hot seat, but there's two empty seats today." (i.e. Paulson and Bernanke)

Issa and the chairman of the Oversight and Reform committee plan on having Paulson and Bernanke testify as well, but Issa also hints that they would subpoena them if necessary. Party on, Mr. Issa.

@Mark.

Agreed. Colbert is hilarious. He and Jon Stewart are the 2 best comedian pundits in the history of television. Lenny Bruce and George Carlin from our era.

@James.

Nice find my friend. As you can see I turned it into a journal entry on the home page. Thanks.
