Spring Break Is Over...Did I Miss Anything?

I took 2 weeks off last Spring for sanity and decided to do the same this year.  Sorry for not alerting regulars (and email and rss subscribers) to my layoff, but once I step away the rule is 'no site visitation under any circumstances.'  These 2 weeks along with a week at Christmas are the 2 times per year when I step away from the interweb.  Played golf a bunch, went to the gym 5 or 6 days and dropped rainbow 3-pointers on America's youth, went fishing twice, found a friendly Chocolate Lab on the street at midnight in the rain (no collar), took him in and found his owners a few days later.  His name was Buster.  Worked in the yard and drank some beer.

Otherwise, my decompression failed.

I can't believe we gave insurance companies 32 million additional customers and allowed their state monopolies to remain intact.

The MSM needs to stop generalizing.  I think we need a group called 'tea for non-racists opposed to deficits and growth in government.'  We're not all the same.  Stop treating us as such.

Republicans are now locked in a love embrace with Wall Street.  The Luntz Doctrine and related talking points have become de facto strategy.  The Senate bill, if there is one, will be weak.  'Too Big To Fail' is not being addressed.  Limits on leverage are absent.  And there is no meaningful regulation of credit-derivatives.

I haven't read emails or comments since March 16th and will slowly get through everything in the next few days.  Hope everyone survived and none of you were arrested in DC or Michigan.  Posting should return to normal over the next day or so.

"The MSM needs to stop generalizing. I think we need a group called 'tea for non-racists opposed to deficits and growth in government.' We're not all the same. Stop treating us as such."

Hells bells, yes. I'm trying to figure out which local Tea Party group to join. They really need people like the Daily Bailers (not to be narcissistic or anything) who can talk in complete sentences, can state well-supported facts, can demonstrate that we're not all poorly educated, white lumpenprol's, and who can cut across the usual left-right dividing lines that the lame MSM always wants to talk about.

Welcome back, Steve. I thought you were done for and we were all on our own. Glad you're back. Where are the CTW's these days? Do they still work for you?

In any case, I advise all the regulars to join your local Tea Party group - contrary to popular opinion, there's quite a few of them who are NOT red-state ditto heads. Let's make the Tea Party our own, a real party of real people. F*** the GOP. F*** Sean Hannity. Seriously, Daily Bailers, let's get ourselves on television and the like. We can talk the talk where other people can't, even when they largely agree with us. Our time has come. Let's make the most of it. Rest assured, I ain't bullshittin'.

you bring up good points james...voices need to be heard...we need to get it organized...the ctw's left in january/february...it was very tough to sell advertising as an independent site and i made the decision to go with an ad network (though i haven't started)...there wasn't much for either to do outside of trying to sell ads...

i have to make a decision about where to go with the site...i have always wanted to build a clusterstock of sorts for our issues...more focused certainly than their reporting but similar in presentation...but i need help...i've had 3 VCs inquire about investing in the site and have re-buffed them over the past year...perhaps i need to re-consider outside investors in order to grow...having a couple of college interns would help tremendoulsy...if anyone know anyone who might be interested, have them contact me through the site...

Danes: no more handouts to SAS

Poll shows that population once proud of Scandinavian Airlines is becoming tired of its continuing losses and decreasing service level

A majority of the population is giving a thumbs down to the state’s policy of pumping billions of kroner into ailing Scandinavian Airlines, according to a TV2/Megafon poll.

The government is preparing to use 525 million kroner more on the airline when SAS issues new company shares in April in an effort to keep it afloat. The primary owners – the governments of Denmark, Norway and Sweden – have all promised to buy shares.

But on Thursday the airline published a special financial report that stated it has lost 730 million kroner in the first two months of 2010 alone.

Dude, you had me freaked a bit. Thought you maybe had a mower failure! Should have know it was golf.

Star Wars, Disney, all that stuff is real, isn't it? I mean, in the end good always wins, right? Tell me this isn't really happening.

It is pleasing to hear so many saying the right things. Let's use this site as a vehicle to action. No more talk only, time to kick back...

Welcome back DB!

I don't care for the "Tea party" label. It seems like there are too many "organizers" trying to tell people what their agenda should be. I don't see how joining a club is going to turn the ship.

How did the big banks pay back the Treasury loans so quickly? Easy, borrow from Ben to pay Timmy...

March 19 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve Board must disclose documents identifying financial firms that might have collapsed without the largest U.S. government bailout ever, a federal appeals court said.

The U.S. Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled today that the Fed must release records of the unprecedented $2 trillion U.S. loan program launched primarily after the 2008 collapse of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. The ruling upholds a decision of a lower-court judge, who in August ordered that the information be released.

No Goopy,
Sarah and Michelle have provided countless hours of comic relief for all of us. Now that Sarah's not a Governor anymore, I can laugh at her without the guilt of finding amusement in the Nation's demise.

I know you want them to lead your astro-turf, er "grassroots" movement. If that's the right, I guess I'm left after all

Looks good on you, though

Yes i think this is the biggest and longest april fools joke there is. The guy from http://www.forecastfortomorrow.com says you aint seen nothing yet. and he called the crash in 2007 and has been spot on with all of this.

This really is about good vs evil now. Where will people wake up and realise we have been had.

Hey Mark...Isn't it supposed to be out of sight out of mind...yet you are obsessed with Sarah and Michele. Oh how I enjoy it and your meltdown. Good stuff, really good stuff.

"This really is about good vs evil now. Where will people wake up and realise we have been had. "

Completely agreed, although *I* prefer to label it as an epic struggle to the death between Right vs Wrong in America. With Right getting its butt handed back to itself in a basket each and every time.

People only wake-up to what's going on by accident mostly. In my case I never paid any attention to finances or the political world until I decided to buy a house back in 2001. I immediately noticed that despite my pretty good salary I couldn't really afford much even with a 20% down payment.
THEN I noticed deadbeats and other riff-raff were not only able to buy those very same houses I couldn't but they were even willing to pay MORE for it! WHICH led me to investigate where the money was coming from anf that led me to all the (mostly southern californian) mortgage companies that were willing to finance ANYONE who could fog a mirror, as went the popular expression later on. Which led me to worry about what to due with my considerable cash savings given that I WASN"T about to get caught in bidding wars with my REAL cash vs the deadbeat MF's who in some cases were landscapers and burgerflippers with their UNLIMITED access to free cash courtesy of Goldman Sachs. Which led me to investigate why the banks were paying such crappt interest rates which led me to worry about my savings which led me to investigate how to get OUT of dollars which led me to learn about finances which led me to learn about political interference against sound economic policies which led me start questioning EVERYTHING my government tells me which led to realize that I NOW LIVE IN A THIRDWORLD POS COUNTRY. PRESTO! Now I'm AWAKE.

Considering the fact that from here we can only continue DOWNHILL, I sometimes kinda wish I was asleep again.

A message to the regulars...

Ken's racism has gotten him banned...all future comments from him will be deleted....
Apr 2, 2010 at 12:01 AM | Registered CommenterDailyBail
@ Ken

Bro, the whole "the Jews are behind every financial conspiracy" is sheer BS. And THIS coming from someone who otherwise kinda admires Adolf Hitler.

You see greedy, self-absorbed assholes whose only purpose in life is to make a quick, illicit dime cross every ethnic line and cultural grouping. They come in every fucking single color and hair-style too. Look at Bush. Is he a Jew? How about President Mobamba? Come on man, you know better than that.

Renounce your War Crimes, confess fully to DB ....and then RETURN to the fold. I'll talk DB into giving you community service and a small fine in lieu of banishment.

Please don't leave me here, alone & outnumbered among the heathen Zoroastrians!

I didn't realize any of us BAMBOOZLED COWARDS were still reading Ken's post. Good catch and good riddance.

Now back to the funny stuff:

Ms. Gloopy says:

"Isn't it supposed to be out of sight out of mind...yet you are obsessed with Sarah and Michele."

Out of sight??? I think these two are producing the world's first alternate reality show and it's on 24/7. Obsessed? Sure I'll give you that. When people that dumb get air time I just can't look away. What cabinet post do you think they'll give Victoria Jackson?

When Sarah was on Oprah she was horrified that a reporter kept asking if she was on the Atkins diet. I want to know if that's the case, because constricting your carb intake explains a lot to me. The brain runs on glucose and when you go on that diet, you are literally trying to run your brain off your ass fat.

How long have you been on Atkins, "Zara"?

(CBS) President Obama has noticed the "vitriol" in the nation's political atmosphere these days and says it's time both sides cooled it. In a brief interview with "The Early Show" co-anchor Harry Smith Thursday before they shot some hoops on the White House basketball court, Mr. Obama called the extreme nature of some of the barbs directed his way on conservative talk shows "troublesome." He also said he's "concerned about a political climate in which the other side is demonized" - an observation meant for both Republicans and Democrats.

Wow, that Obama has all the right answers.

Welcome back Steve, I was beginning to worry about you, I have been a little predisposed this week as I am in the Michiana region, I will be returning home tomorrow.

It is kinda ironic with Ken, Iran and the Taliban both feel he uses AMEN to much, and the White National Socialists and Aryan Nations would never accept him because he is from India.

Other than that, they all have so much in common... I guess that is what keeps trailer parks in business though.
