She's Brilliant And She Lost By 1600 Votes (Must See)

Video:  Give her 1 minute and you might keep watching...

Congressional candidate Jackie Walorski on the economy, deficits and bailouts.

Editor's Note:  Dr. Pitchfork put this story together, and I was going to shelve it since she lost tonight.  Then I watched this clip.

Walorski just conceded -- 48-47 for Donnelly.  Only 1,600 votes separating.

For months, political observers have been keeping a close eye on Indiana's 2nd congressional district, where TARP incumbent Joe Donnelly (D) faced a tough opponent in tea-party backed Jackie Walorski (R).  A little over a month ago, this race was still being treated as a near-certain win for Donnelly, but few political insiders understood the depths of people's anger over the bank bailouts.  They'll learn.

Anyhow, we called this race for Walorski back in September when she was still way behind in the polls.  The bailouts, and the Tea Party movement they inspired, have politicized and radicalized people who would not otherwise be, and today they voted.

Bailout "Star" Joe Donnelly (D-IN) says bank bailouts are "good for America."

Awesome job, I bet Donnelly did not speak like this.

no doubt...she should have been the Indiana Senate candidate instead of Dan Coats...a real human being versus a lifelong politician/lobbyist...

This one was a heart breaker. I didn't know much about Walorski until I saw this clip the other day. I assumed she was just a run-of-the-mill "Tea Party" candidate who hates abortion and "socialism." But she gets it. Everyone's gotten bailed out except the middle-class taxpayer. I hope she runs again.

I agree Dr. P., don't give up Jackie...

It is not the successes that define a person, it is their ability to recover from defeat that is most admirable.

Never give up.

What a biased, factually incorrect post.

Joe Donnelly has served the state of Indiana with the utmost dignity - fighting for jobs, values, and education.

To even breath a WORD of bailouts, while speaking on behalf of Walorski - who took hundreds of thousands from KOCH in the last month of the election... is blasphemous and hypocritical.

Nick, if you loved that one so much, try this one.

Or this one.

Personally, I believe that panicking and voting on something you don't even understand (TARP) just because Hank Paulson and Nancy Pelosi told you to is pretty undignified. But if you think voting that way is to "serve the state of Indiana with the utmost dignity," I'll take your word for it. Good luck in fantasy land.

Nick--

Hoosiers disagree with you:

"Contributions from individuals account for about 85 percent of Walorski's campaign funding. Donnelly has received about 42 percent of his campaign funding from individuals during this election cycle."

Joe Donnelly sucks down Wall Street money with the best of them...

This was a bad loss for the U.S. and for Indiana's 2nd district.

Hey Cheyenne, I found that link you were talking about, I was putting a O instead of a zero on the end of it.

Fascinating stuff...

Gomp--

You mean this?

http://www.youtube.com/user/cedec0

Yeah, deCarbonnel is WAY out there with some of his calls, like the one for a food crisis in 2010 (which he made in late 2009/early 2010). But then I start seeing more and more graphs like this and I wonder:

Nov 3, 2010 at 4:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterCheyenne
Due to drought Cheyenne, many parts of the country are harvesting up to 20 bushels per acre less corn. That is why prices are rising, yields are down, as grains rise expect meats to rise as well.

As an investor, people worry about those kind of charts for reassurance. Hungry bellies worry about yield.

If feed prices get to high, more animals will be sent to slaughter instead of feeding them out to full production. This could create problems down the road.

Problems abound globally, and reserves are low in many areas of the world.

I remember that story well, Gomp. Remember the one about a burning mountain turning a third of the sea to blood?

Thanks for the links.
Nov 3, 2010 at 6:27 PM | Unregistered CommenterCheyenne
Absolutely, the banksters think they can build a ark of fiat to float them to safety across the sea to blood.

Correct. The Banksters lose because they don't know what's real.

Gomp--

You fuckin scholar. There is NO WAY I'm absorbing that now, so lemme get down to brass tacks.

I say the collapse occurs by 3/31/11. And by that I mean you better know how to farm, or be tight with someone who does.

You want the over or the under? And for how much?
Nov 3, 2010 at 11:50 PM | Unregistered CommenterCheyenne
Things will be tight by then, it will hit poorer countries first because they will not be able to afford the increased costs associated with supply and demand, not to mention protectionism may prevent selling, driving costs up even more.

Bet you are glad you got that four acres.

I got way cooler toys than an over and under, heh, heh (that is a joke, I know what you meant).

America has gone from the largest food exporter to largest food importer.

"Bet you are glad you got that four acres."

You got that right. Best money I ever spent. Only thing that worries me is its distance from Chi-Town. I guess a hedge us hedge, huh? Whatever, it's an option not many have. For that I'm grateful.
