RAW VIDEO: Cyprus Protesters Rage Against Bailout

Raging against the EU machine.  At 42 seconds.

Best clip of the bunch.  Protesters gather outside the Cypriot parliament in Nicosia, where Angela Merkel was the favorite target, with signs and chants calling her a "Nazi" and "fascist."

"We hate Europe. Europe is a bunch of thieves. They love to take our money and they want to destroy our country."

Scroll down for photos.

---

"Merkel is the Fourth Reich, that's the truth!"

"Right now, we are having an invasion by the Troika and by Euro Group, and we're talking about people coming and taking money from our pockets."

[Note: Are those piles of "manure" they are dumping in front of Parliament?]

---

Protesters clash with police after ECB ultimatum.

Protesters clash with police in Cyprus on Thursday as the country faces possible bankruptcy.  The EU has informed Cyprus it has until Monday to raise €5.8bn (£4.9bn) in order to partially fund its own bailout, otherwise the European Central Bank will cease its emergency funding.

A Russian shop owner in Cyprus says he has lost 70% of business in the last few days and doesn’t know how he will pay his rent. Many shops and businesses on the island are now only accepting cash.

The Cyprus Popular Bank imposed a 260 euro per day limit on ATM withdrawals on Thursday. Tesa Arcilla reports that a poll of Cypriots found that 67% want to exit the euro zone and instead want closer ties with Russia.

I'd like to know, and I'm sure the Cypriot people would demand to know, if any elected officials had advance knowledge of the EU-IMF plan and moved their money ahead of time. Wouldn't surprise me.

Now the important question, were they dumping bags of shit in front of Parliament?

But in a move that has raised eyebrows, the Russian energy giant Gazprom offered Cyprus a plan in which the company will undertake the restructuring of the country’s banks in exchange for exploration rights for natural gas on the island.

This is a few days old, I missed it until now. Interesting offer.
