Obamacare Complicated? Check Out The Flow Chart

In August, Missouri voters voted 'NO' overwhelmingly on Obamacare.  And in December, Federal Judge Henry Hudson will rule on the constitutionality of the individual mandate, the cornerstone of Obama's plan.  As this graphic shows, the new law creates 68 grant programs, 47 bureaucratic entities, 29 demonstration or pilot programs, 6 regulatory systems, 6 compliance standards and 2 entitlements.  What could possibly go wrong with something so-well organized?

One of the more illuminating remarks during the health-care debate in Congress came when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told an audience that Democrats would “pass the bill so you can find out what’s in it, away from the fog of controversy.”

That remark captured the truth that, while many Americans have a vague sense that something bad is happening to their health care, few if any understand exactly what the law does.

To fill this vacuum, Representative Kevin Brady of Texas, the top House Republican on the Joint Economic Committee, asked his staff to prepare a study of the law, including a flow chart that illustrates how the major provisions will work.

The result, made public July 28, provides citizens with a preview of the impact the health-care overhaul will have on their lives. It’s a terrifying road map that shows Democrats have launched America on the most reckless policy experiment in its history, the economic equivalent of the Bay of Pigs invasion.

Before discussing what the law means for you, we have to look at what it does to government. That’s where the chart comes in handy. It includes the new fees, bureaucracies and programs and connects them into an organizational chart that accounts for the existing structure. It’s so carefully documented that a line connecting two structures cites the legislative language that created the link.

This clearly is a candidate for most disorganized organizational chart ever. It shows that the health system is complex, yes, but also ornate. The new law creates 68 grant programs, 47 bureaucratic entities, 29 demonstration or pilot programs, six regulatory systems, six compliance standards and two entitlements.

"Due to the economy, most of my husband's real estate ventures failed despite his hard work and effort," Teresa told UsMagazine.com last month. "As a result, we looked to the Bankruptcy Court for a fresh start.”

Why are we bailing out the banks...

If you have ever watched this show and their crazy expensive lifestyle, you probably never realized that you were picking up their tab. They enjoyed fast cars, a big house, many other smaller homes, expensive trips, and the crazy New Jersey in your face mafioso lifestyle. Yes, the banks let them have multiple mortgages on numerous properties and gave them big fat loans with you, the taxpayer, as the guarantor.

Which one of the pretty "buttons" on the picture is the "siphon money off the fund to pay for pork" button.

Looks remarkably like a Social Security fund flow chart with the exception of a IOU button, I am sure that will be added later...

I have this SNEAKY feeling that much of this chart was in place before the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed. Please notice that I did not use the perjorative "Obamacare" term. The ACT was an abysmal atempt at compromise, and still left the rancorous profit making companies in charge of the health of this nation's people. Shame on us.

I read a report about this, the US's 15% of GDP currently spent on health care will be 23% by 2015. It's insane. My husband just began a new job and benefits kick in after 3 months so we are currently unisured for dental. I lost a filling need to see a dentist so yesterday I call the dental clinic, how much to get a temporary filling until benefits kick in and I can get this taken care of properly? The girl told me "well, you'll have to have an x-ray, that'll be $50 and a temporary filling will be about $70. This is flat uninsured rate, cash, walk out the door. When I go back to have it fixed under insurance it'll cost me about $20.

I get so tired of Canadian health care being demonized by the media, even the Canadian media! I don't know what it would cost in the US to walk into a clinic, get xrays and a temporary filling but I suspect it's much more than $120. And Obama care is going to make it waaaaay worse.

Dems ramp up attacks on Justice Thomas ahead of health law ruling

http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/legal-challenges/194623-dems-ramp-up-attacks-on-justice-thomas-ahead-of-health-law-ruling

House Democrats wrote to the U.S. Judicial Conference on Friday urging the watchdog agency to request that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder investigate Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Thomas is under scrutiny for failing to report at least $1.6 million that his wife earned from conservative interests between 1997 and 2007. The letter, spearheaded by House Rules ranking member Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) and signed by 51 House Democrats, comes after newly released documents show Thomas properly reported his wife's income for at least seven years before 1997....

....."I request that Justice Kagan recuse herself immediately from hearing the ObamaCare case," Cain said in a statement. "Members of the highest court in the land should be impartial, strictly follow the Constitution and should not carry water for former employers in the White House."

And on Friday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and three other senators wrote to Holder demanding that he comply with congressional oversight requests regarding Kagan’s role in the administration’s defense of the health care law. Holder has said Kagan was removed from any meetings where litigation was discussed, but Republicans want to see evidence that she was not privy to discussions of legal claims and litigation strategy concerning court challenges to the law.

Plouffe: Romney the ‘godfather’ of Obama health reforms

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/03/25/plouffe-romney-the-godfather-of-obama-health-reforms/

Note: Too bad 60 minutes wouldn't do an interview of people in Massachusetts who are on "romneycare" and ask them how that is working out. Hint, it is extremely difficult and at times near impossible to find anyone who can provide service. What needs to be done is what worked back in the late 70's early 80's, not this dream pipe that had to be passed so we could see what is in it.
