I had a feeling "no-good" would come out from a country wthich had a voter turn out of 114%.
I can't help but wonder if any of these people are having some second thoughts about running all the farmers and industrialist out of the country.

That's a sad picture of what inflation looks like and how it can destroy a country's currency. I can't help but wonder how much longer till we see this situation play out in Europe and the USA.

It may take a long time in the West before or if anything like this will occur. Mainly because all modern economies are more controlled than Communist Russia or China. Reason being that it does no good for the power of the controlling financial elite. Using deceptive financing concepts like 'derivatives' and robotic control programs in the stock exchanges they can totally control economies, such as the silver and gold markets. This will eventually end but probably not for a long time because the collapse will not be total or complete because the elite are well guarded by the high ranking government officials, top business interests and well paid sycophants. Meanwhile, small target countries like Zimbabwe will be systematically dismantled, country after country, like a serial killer of nations.

I can not understand why Zimbabwe doesnt simply use "seeds"; rice fields, corn...any crop whereby self actualizing independent communities can gradually shift from the current bartering system.
Added to this...Why hasnt the US/China taken over this dictator? What Zimabewean would fight for this tyrant ?
The US choses to War for its resources while China and many other countries simply negotiate...Why doesnt China negotiate a system of equitable dependable resource attribution. Pass on community educational paradigms which will foster strong connections with China/Japan. Looks like a potentially "golden" opportunity for some superr power.

In 0.3g gold/day to survive. Out Zim = breadbasket of Africa. This is what comes when you separate property from owners; money from reality.

@Ken- It's possible for them to do this and then create a new currency pegged to gold, silver, or something else. In that case the financial sector that bought these commodities would still gain.

How is that...I went to a farm and they were very glad to accept Zimbabwean dollars.
They use it for fertilizer.

Zimbabwe does not want to use contaminated genetically modified seeds to grow their crops because GMO'd food is toxic. It has been shown in studies all over the world to cause tumors, endocrine damage, and genetic anomalies. Why would any sane people want to feed their kids poison and watch them turn into fat, retarded, sociopathic, money-loving leeches who will end up on lifelong disability and social services for their multiple illnesses? Oh wait...

If these people are needing 0.3g of gold a day to survive, something is very wrong or someone else is making a killing (probably literally) off these people. At current prices, 0.3g of gold is about US$16. How many billions of people get by on much less than that.

Much profit is being made of these peoples suffering, we need to look further up the chain, until we find those who are benefiting from the suffering of these people. Cui Bono.

On a side note, it's funny that US$ don't seem to be being used, maybe even the Zimbabweans have lost confidence in that fiat (would make sense as they have recent experience of worthless fiat). But Shirley there are alternative mediums of exchange other than gold that the people have to go and pan themselves. ... I'm sure there are, but don't call me Shirley.

We have decided to act than to be cry babies. I want to set the record straight once and for all, Zimbabwe is not for blacks or whites its for Zimbabweans. Those who were evicted by the tyrant are and will for ever be Zimbabweans. This is aright that no one can take from them. Some brave Zims have opened a new chapter in Zim politics, all we need is support and we can in-cooperate Zimbabwe back to the community of normal nations. please visit www.zimzdrp.org We are not going to go under, we will fight for our rights than submit. for those that are responsible for this mayhem you days are finish..

Zimbabwe's problem isn't caused by separating owners from their property. It is caused by separating workers from their means of production. Those Zimbabwean farms produced because farmers WORKED the farm not merely "owned" it. Proof is that the film maker actually states that the "new owners" didn't know how to WORK their newly acquired property.

So much for the pseudo economic lessons by people who never bothered to actually read Karl Marx's "Das Kapital" but nevertheless think they can get away with misquoting and misinterpreting it, merely to feign intellectual prowess. For those who fell for the deception, I’d say, Please do humanity a favour and put some effort in becoming more educated.

Oh, and before I forget, Robert Mugabe is a self avowed admirer of Hitler, he even admonished himself the moustache to illustrate such fact. So please don't call the man Communist while he is trying so hard to look like a genuine Fascist.

"I can't help but wonder if any of these people are having some second thoughts about running all the farmers and industrialist out of the country. "

Before Zimbarbwe told the westerners to 'sod off'

the country was basically a farm for England.

Western foreign policy is essentially 'extractive'

- and then they turn round and blame the people that they are steadily dispossessing

for not being 'on to it' enough to solve their own problems.

In the 80s I worked in Zambia and we were so jealous of Zimbabwe. They had better hotels, better service, better everything.
And look at it now. A total collapse.
Is this the way Argentina is going?
