CURRENT TV Staffers Lash Out At Green Energy Hypocrite Al Gore

Douchebag hypocrisy is best served hot.

Current TV Staffers Speak Out On Clean Energy Hero Al Gore

NY Post

Just call him Al Gorezeera.

Yesterday morning, the still shell shocked staff at Current TV was called to an all hands staff meeting at its San Francisco headquarters, which was teleconferenced to their offices in LA and NYC, to meet their new bosses. Ominously missing was the creator of Current, the self proclaimed inventor of the Internet and savior of clean energy, Al Gore, although his partner, Joel Hyatt, stood proudly with the Al Jazeera honchos.

“Of course Al didn’t show up,” said one high placed Current staffer. "He has no credibility."

“He’s supposed to be the face of clean energy and just sold the channel to very big oil, the emir of Qatar! Current never even took big oil advertising—and Al Gore, that bullshitter sells to the emir?”

One person at the meeting, who has already announced that she’s leaving, former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, tried to ask about severance packages for those who wouldn’t be staying.

“This isn’t the place to discuss this!” Hyatt barked at her.

“After that, everyone kept their questions pretty much to themselves,” according to the staff member.

The displeasure with Gore among the staff was thick enough to cut with a scimitar.

“We all know now that Al Gore is nothing but a bullshitter,” said the staffer bluntly. "We do stories on the tax code, and he sells the network before the tax code kicked in?"

“Al was always lecturing us about green. He kept his word about green all right—as in cold, hard cash!”

Interesting piece from Ann Barnhardt. Part. 2. I caught an interesting factoid while reading a story about Algore selling his Marxist agitprop cable station to Al Jazeera last week. When it was first reported that Gore was selling CurrentTV, it was reported that CurrentTV received cable and satellite licensing revenues of $0.12 per month per subscriber - that is the pinch of incense you people who had CurrentTV included in your cable/sat package were paying to Algore. It mattered not that you never, ever turned CurrentTV on, or even knew that it was included in your package. Your $0.12 per month multiplied together put $80 million per year in cashflows into Algore's hands in order to spread his evil, satanic filth.

The interesting factoid released last week was that cable/sat licensing revenues comprised 80% of CurrentTV's revenue, with the other 20% coming from on-air advertising. I did not realize that these channels were THAT budgetarily dependent on the cable/sat fees. I would have thought that advertising revenue was in excess of 50% of their total revenue. I was very, very wrong in that assumption.

The point is, you people are paying for this crap, and they are TOTALLY dependent on your monthly pinches of incense. You and your tacit consent via your continued patronage of the cable/sat market are absolutely, positively, without question the entire driving force behind all of it. If they lose the cable/sat licensing revenues, it's lights out, right now. The ad revenue is not even close to sufficient to keep them afloat. That's just the walking around money to them.

How ironic that they are making the lion's share of their money off of people who never, ever watch their channel, but are too apathetic to withdraw their consent and their dollars.

YOU made this psychopathic monster a nine-figure millionaire. If that doesn't convince you of the need to TURN THE SHIT OFF, then I just don't know what to say.

PRUDEN: Up to our ears in Al Gore’s ‘climate change’ snake oil

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/aug/23/pruden-up-to-our-ears-in-snake-oil/#ixzz2cnKJvpP4

[snip]

Al Gore and his traveling medicine show is back in town with his new, improved snake oil, guaranteed to grow hair, improve digestion, promote regularity and kill roaches, rats and bedbugs. Al and his wagon rumbled into town on the eve of “a major forthcoming report” from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which is a panel of scientists affiliated with the United Nations. Their report is expected to buck up the spirits of the tycoons of the snake-oil industry.
A snake-oil salesman’s lot, like a policeman’s, is not a happy one. There’s always a skeptic or two (or three) standing at the back of the wagon, eager to scoff and jeer. The global-warming scam would have been right up Gilbert and Sullivan’s street. Would Al and the U.N. deceive us? No! Never! What! Never? Weeeell, hardly ever.
The New York Times, a faithful shill for Al’s snake-oil elixir, following the wagon from town to town, got an advance copy of the U.N. report and gives out with the “good” news: It’s a “near certainty” that humans are responsible for the rising temperatures of recent decades, and warns that by the end of the century all the little people — small children, midgets and others whose growth was stunted by drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes at an early age — will be up to their belly buttons in salt water. The seas will rise by more than three feet.
The inconvenient truth Al and the junk scientists have to deal with is that temperatures aren’t rising, but falling. In fact, since the early 1990s we’ve had global cooling. It got so embarrassing Al and the junk scientists started calling it “climate change.” Some days it rains, some days it doesn’t and some days it’s a little of both. That’s real change. The U.N. panel concedes that global warming has in fact given way to global cooling, but attributes this to “short-term factors.” The minions of the compliant media, ever eager to blow hard about the coming end of the world, when women and minorities will suffer most, will rattle and twitter about the U.N. climate report with their usual tingle and flutter.
President Obama tried the other day to elbow Al aside to lead with his assertion that hurricanes are getting worse and that only he has the power to put them in their place. Hurricanes are actually getting not worse, but fewer. Only three major hurricanes have made landfall so far in Mr. Obama’s presidency. Grover Cleveland, who was president between 1885 and 1889, entertained 26 major hurricanes during his presidency, and that was before global warning was invented.

Indeed John, Indeed. I once did some work for a guy that was a manager of a large hedge fund. Good guy and all that, wonderful with his gardens and such, but I had no idea why he went to Antarctica with the exception of the fact that he could afford the trip.

Skin, the Chinese Icebreaker sent to rescue them is also stuck and now may need to be evacuated. O has dispatched one too but nut it will be too late IMHO. All I can say is gosh darn that global warming!

The expedition (eco-party) company, Quark Expeditions (and eco-partyers) should be held liable for all costs incurred for the rescue as well as the cleanup that may be imminent.

Really just a bunch of dicks. Hell they should be made to walk to meet their pick up. And yes, the global warming trend has just ruined my winter plans. I am on track to burn as much if not more fire wood than last year. Have a big dent in the pile already. Just was wondering your thoughts about the gulf currents. I have read a couple of pieces where they suggest that the oil and corexit in the gulf has slowed down the currents coming out of the gulf, thus the warmer currents not being able to make the loop up into the Atlantic causing colder water to roam farther south. On top of that there has been reports of massive sea life die off in the Pacific.
Dec 31, 2013 at 8:48 AM | Unregistered Commenterskinflint
Skin, my thoughts about the Gulf currents are this, it would be impossible to slow several quadrillion tons of moving water with anything less than a dam. It would be like trying to slow the Mississippi river by putting dye, oil or anything else in it. These bullshit artists have gone waaaaayyyyy over the top.

On that note I do not like pollution either, but these folks are in plain Maine language, absolutely fucking bat shit crazy and should not be allowed anywhere near children, especially in schools.

The cause of the Akademik Shokalskiy getting stuck in Antarctica – delay from sightseeing mishaps and dawdling by the passengers getting back on ship

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/01/02/the-cause-of-the-akademik-shokalskiy-getting-stuck-in-antarctica-sigtseeing-mishaps-and-dawdling-by-the-passengers-getting-back-on-ship/

[snip]

This pretty much nails the cause of the situation, and blows expedition leader Chris Turney’s claim about being “surprised” about the situation literally out of the water.

In my post Now that the ‘Ship of Fools’ is safe in Antarctica, tough questions need to be asked one of the questions I asked was:

9. Did the sightseeing excursion to Mawson’s Huts on December 19th and again on Dec 23rd (apparently to Mertz Glacier, though their blog and “tracker” are unclear on this point) cause delays that caused the ship to be trapped in rapidly changing weather which closed the sea ice around them?

“The third drama of the day is the one which is still unfolding. Because of the Argo mishap we got off late, and had one less vehicle to ferry people to and fro. I’m told the Captain was becoming rather definite late in the afternoon that we needed to get everyone back on board ASAP because of the coming weather and the ice closing in. As I write we are continuing to make extremely slow progress through what looks like a winter alpine snow field – it’s yet another surreal part of this journey that we are in a ship trying to barge our way through here! I’m sure the Captain would have been much happier if we had got away a few hours earlier. Maybe we would have made it through the worst before it consolidated as much as it has with the very cold south- easterly winds blowing the ice away from the coast, around and behind us as well as ahead.

Aurora Australis rescue ship told to hold position to potentially assist Chinese vessel Xue Long

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/01/02/aurora-australis-rescue-ship-told-to-hold-position-to-potentially-assist-chinese-vessel-xue-long/

[snip]

It looks like the “rescued” climate scientists, journalists, and tourists will have to wait on-board the Aurora Australis awhile longer while this episode plays out. There is still a lot of ice ahead according to the webcam on Aurora Australis (seen below) which had been slowed to a crawl, making only 1/4 knot.
