What I think he meant is that his campaign promises would result to be as worthless & devalued as is the U.S. dollar.

Where is the liberal outrage? How does this work, again? War is a disgusting failure of conservatism but a shining example of the liberal moral code?

Chumps.

"Lie" is a bit strong. Be fair. He was running against a candidate who was vowing to continue the war. It took him a month and a half after entering office, but he ended it.

On February 27, 2009, President Obama announced a plan to responsibly end the war in Iraq.

whitehouse.gov:
"By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end and Iraqi Security Forces will have full responsibility for major combat missions. After August 31, 2010, the mission of United States forces in Iraq will fundamentally change. Our forces will have three tasks: train, equip, and advise the Iraqi Security Forces; conduct targeted counterterrorism operations; and provide force protection for military and civilian personnel. The President intends to keep our commitment under the Status of Forces Agreement to remove all of our troops from Iraq by the end of 2011."

Thanks for the WH press release, Political Fairness. If your job is to stop the spread of misinformation, maybe you should stop spreading it. Or maybe stop carrying the water for those who do.

( DB, any read on that IP address? There are, as we are coming to find out, a number of govt. programs, including one with the Air Force, in which govt. officials are encouraged to post polite "corrections" to what they believe to be misinformation on the web. The post above just reeks of officialdom -- "responsibly end the war in Iraq" -- who writes like that, except political hacks?)

No politician can stop that which the contributors are making money on. It is bad for campaign fund raising...

The United States military could stay in Iraq for maybe a hundred years and that would be fine with me.

John McCain, town hall meeting in Derry, New Hampshire

A lot of fat cats could be made mighty happy in one hundred years, and imagine the campaign "war chests" that could be built...

"but he ended it. "

I don't know either, but it sounds like a party robot. But sure, if they want to believe their own lies regarding their own promises...

Well now lets be fair guys...... He did say "and you can take that to the bank". It was just a simple misinterpretation. And in truth he did and we are taking it to the bank. He was so accurate that we continue to take it to the bank. LOL!

Kidding aside, I was in Walgreens the other night and found myself in a polite political exchange with a lady who works there. She too is convinced that there is a real problem with the view of the Tea Party and she thanked god Senator Reid won over Sharon Angle. I asked her if she ever contacted them for assistance of any kind or needed it? She said no. I returned with well perhaps thats why. You should try it sometime.

All of your Senators an Congressmen offer "Case Work" in way of assistance to the public. Try it as a Constituent who is just that. Not someone working a great job with nothing more than opinion or someone who is a major contributor. Or even someone who is connected to one who is. See how your treated. Then I will listen to you. Until then in truth I respect but respectfully decline to listen to an OPINION.

If you have I apologize. More so I would love to hear your story. Perhaps we can share our stories then. Because if you are not in need of anything and are lucky enough to be working with life as usual uninfected by this as you understand it. First, god bless you, second if humbly suggest that you return your chair to the upright position and fasten your seat belt.

I truly can say that I wish I did not know the truth. Or should I say I wish I was not effected as yet as many are. If you are fortunate enough to say either may I suggest you soil you hands a bit just enough to really find out for yourself.

Sincerely.

I think your experiences Dave prove a valuable point. All politicians are the same, regardless of party. They only care if you've got money or the media behind you. Otherwise, it's sorry, can't help you.

On a long enough time line none of this will matter. That may be true but we are here. And while we are people who are good and trying to do good need to find each other; Best said by Bob Marley;

[Bob Marley] had this idea. Kind of a virologist idea. He believed that you can cure racism and hate; litterally cure it, by injecting music and love into people's lives. When he was scheduled to preform at a peace rally, a gun man came to his house and shot him down. Two days later he walked on stage and sang. Somebody asked him, "Why?" He said, "The people who are trying to make the world worse are not taking a day off. How can I? Light up the darkness."
