DB,
It's depressing to watch similar videos of other cities.
My mother had an expression: "BROKEN DREAMS"
This countries plight is worse than she could have imagined.

The situation we're in is SUBLIME.

Played golf with a Golf Channel buddy at Nicklaus' Reflection Bay ~10 years ago when times were "good." Butch Harmon hooked us up and his protege, Natalie Gulbis, just bouhgt a place. It was wierd. Way out of town. Nobody around. I remember the beach shown in this video.

I asked my buddy: Where is everyone? Who owns this place? Where is all the money coming from?
His repsonse: "Somebody"

Vegas, and to a very large extent the US, is just painted rust...

Nice story Josie. I've played Reflection Bay but with no hookup from Butch Harmon. You must travel in the right circles. Ten minutes ago a UPS man showed up at my door with a tour issue Callaway Diablo Octane 3 wood with a Matrix shaft I've been wanting to try. Ebay is awesome sometimes.

I was looking for a house in Vegas briefly back in 2002, and looked at Lake Las Vegas, but I thought prices were way too high back then and that was before the bubble started blowing. Glad I stayed on the sidelines.

But I wonder if there are any foreclosures available these days next to Natalie Gulbis. Here's a few photos for those who don't know her.

I know the are very well and it's a small casino that caters to a mid to high end player. There are so many things I could say about that place but the real issue at that one is it just a bit too far away from the strip. One dice game a few 21 tables, in short a small place that was able to provide some good deals for visitors. The Golf was Okay......... Jose, DB next time your in Vegas go to Anthem. Blows it away and I've played a lot of golf in my life. Revere is my favorite.

Another thing that is going on, I don't know if it's happening there, is some certain CEO's are buying up a ton of property right now. Basically someone else's dreams that they more than likely lost via the way of fraud. But none the less one in particular bout a hugh amount of area in the south east end where it's very nice. He's building a compound. Literally as a second home. Or castle, fortress or whatever?

Regardless Vegas is like never before in a low. But I guarantee you they are not hurting for money. Only the workers. China has Harrah's, now Caesars Entertainment again, and a ton of money comes from there and pretty much all over the world now to the big two.

And to think, when Vegas did have competition it generated more money on a daily than the US Mint could print. Look that up for those who don't know. I only wonder what that figure is now?

Thanks for the recommendation Dave. I will play Anthem the next time I head to Vegas. But since I started this blog (almost 3 years ago) I haven't taken a single real vacation. For anyone who's interested in the advice, NEVER start a blog. It will take over your life if you're not careful, and I have not been careful.
