Ice-T On Guns: 'The Last Form Of Defense Against Tyranny'

'To protect yourself from the police.'

Ice T goes on British TV to defend gun rights in America.  The actor speaks with Channel 4 London in the hours after the Colorado shooting.

Ice-T: Well, I'll give up my gun when everybody does.  Doesn't that make sense?  If there were guns here, would you want to be the only person without one?

Anchor: So do you carry guns routinely at home?

Ice-T: Yeah, it's legal in the United States.  It's part of our Constitution.  You know, the right to bear arms is because that's the last form of defense against tyranny.  Not to hunt.  It's to protect yourself from the police.

I live in Victoria, Canada where handguns are banned. I wake up to the radio and routinely hear about people being shot by handguns in Vancouver. The is explained as "gang related drive-by shootings" as though that somehow changes the fact that obviously criminals don't care about gun laws. That's why they are criminals.

I visit my local grocery story and I regularly see the armoured truck there to either deliver or remove cash.
The guard carries a prominently displayed handgun and his partner in the truck is also armed.
The police are armed when they stop someone for not wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle.

The message is clear. Bank rule. Their money is important but your money can be confiscated any time some asshole dreams up a new by-law to make it illegal to do this or that. The whole thing is a scam and the sooner everyone gets themselves armed to the teeth to stop it, the better things will be.

In Canada "give me money" is the answer to everything. Your dog is not on a leash - "give me money".
You are having a can of beer while fishing - "give me money".
The latest is a rule for cats. They want to charge people money because cats kill birds. No mention of the fact that they also kill rodents. They want "pay me money" to protect the birds.

All of this money goes to the bankers who have have you executed by their hired thugs if you tried to touch a dime of their
money.
The bankers have it figured to the point where we pay the wages of their thugs who steal our money and give it to bankers.
Enough!!!! Canada should adopt the same attitude as America and get armed.

The police are not the government. I agree citizens need to be armed however.

He has got that totally wrong, because in Amerika tyranny has free rein. The government is a bunch of torture loving sadists who now kill American citizens at will and detain them indefinitely. There is no difference between the USSR and the USA, except that the USA is worse because it is at war with the world in general and Muslims in particular and it has directly killed and maimed tens of millions of people in the last 10 years, so it is clear that the "gun ownership" thing has not prevented tyranny at all...

Ice T is right on.

It's no accident that disapproval ratings of politicians are breaking records at the same time bans on guns and ammo are at a fever pitch. The tension between ordinary people and imperial politicians is almost palpable as things are coming to a head. This video of a town hall meeting about new anti-2nd amendment legislation is a good indication of where we're headed...

It appears the pols won't get it. Until they get it.

To all the 2nd amendment lovers, when you go to the airports for a flight you WILL NOT CARRY your beloved firearm you WILL SUBMIT to all required searches. You WILL ALLOW the TSA to put their hands anywhere on your body they see fit and you SUBMISSIVELY allow the TSA to strip search your parents, your spouses, your children, your grandchildren, your grandparents anytime they feel like it.
I thought you would defend yourself & your family with your Bullet Shooter.
Now run home with your tails tucked between your legs & hide under the cover. That includes the bunch in the town hall meeting in New York.

How will you deal with an advanced weaponized govt.? Oh! That's right .You will shoot down drones with your firearms.

IceT thinks that guns don't make it easier to kill people? WTF I guess all the recent shooters had a dilemma as whether to use firearms or strap on explosives since they are readily available at many retail outlets.

Leroy, police are part of the executive branch of government. They're part of the executive branch because they execute people randomly.

" WTF I guess all the recent shooters had a dilemma as whether to use firearms or strap on explosives since they are readily available at many retail outlets."

Your right, if they're going to commit suicide anyway. A 25 pound propane bottle, an adjustable wrench, and a Bic lighter would make a hell of a big bang and possibly kill and injure many people.
Damn, we're going to need propane bottle registration, wrench registration, and Bic lighter registration. Although if their going to commit suicide they probably won't register their stuff. We may have to confiscate these items nationwide to be sure we're all safe.

Better keep your guns--cause, if the cops know you don't have any---most cops are trigger happy. Keep hearing-- guns can protect us from tyrany. Can some one give some signs of government abuse and tyrany examples? I haven't heard of one case, were a citizen decided touse his gun. Take 3500 Americans killed on 911 by Bush/Sheron regimes--did any family member of the dead--get even? ZIP!

Im starting to feel in my Gut that this time the goverment is going to try and take it all the way. They have MANY, MANY, Sheep on thAre side.....Im NOT saying they will get away with it. You know their game. Everyone must reg. all guns in the home.

You see if they got that threw, then they know where 75% of good peoples guns are...That will start the push back by the American People. Thats the part where blood must be shed from time to time. That will not work good on both sides....!

You need to reamber. The nwo sent him here, ( White House ) to do a job. First 4 years went well. 5th yr. Disarm the American People. Its the next step, folks........It would go something like this..Listen up here BHO, either you do your job or we will get someone else that will disarm them "MF's"......We have someone that can take your place( HC), you know, someone that would shoot her own parents and husband. The job must be done......

This is how the libs think, and do. Its sad that for 50 yrs. now we have talked about someday will come when our goverment repeats histroy. Maby we are at that point....................."Jus Sayin" ?

Of course no sane individual would choose to load their rifle and go get the TSA, If you were so stupid, after they Dornered you, they would just hire more more demented TSA goons, there really is a huge supply to choose from.
Nor has the armed public chosen to do the same to Congress. I've read plenty of senseless comments egging people on toward violence. Guess the types that write this drivel never served in a real war.
No sane person wants a war, especially those who already fought in one. Despite all the hysteria this is the last result-period. Once it goes to this point there will be nothing to rescue, only everything to rebuild. So, yeah, you sneering violence fanatics, sane people try absolutely everything first before going to war, and if you had any sense, you would too.
Try lending some of your effort to helping the lawsuit of Chris Hedges. Try exposing the corruption and offering some real solutions. Try making others aware, and enlisting their help in restoring our country.
Sure, America has guns, and sure they are there to limit the tyranny-as a last resort.

"America has guns, and sure they are there to limit the tyranny-as a last resort."

The authors of the constitution disagree, which is why the right to bear arms comes in at no. 2 in the bill of rights.

Hedges' lawsuit is a worthy cause, as the NDAA is a plain violation of the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 14th amendments. The case, however, was just argued to the court of appeals, so it's not clear what help you have in mind. Likewise it's unlcear why you think vigilance against infringment of the 2nd amendment are mutually exlusive of other constitutional violations. Shouldn't the constitution be defended in its totality?
