Here of late, I have been fortunate enough to travel the roads of the Washington metro area in a tri axle. There are scores of high saturation building projects going on in this particular area. Don't know about the rest of you guys, BUT, the skilled tradesman positions are all South American. The masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, siding crews etc etc etc. Yesterday I counted on a site of hundreds of workers, two black guys and five white guys. I was one of them. There were the large vans parked around the site that I am guessing bussed all these guys into the place. This was just one job and there are many more like them. I honestly was surprised by this. I KNEW this was going on, but not to this extent. My guess is that it is happening everywhere and I have no idea what the fuck our kids are going to do when they get out of school. Not all of them can be bankers and such.

I haven't been around any large sites but mexicans have taken over most of the construction trades in Indiana. If I were coming out of high school and not going to college, I would go into air-traffic control. You don't need a degree and the money and benefits get to be really good after a few years. They can pull down $150k year easy.
