CAPTURED - Sen. Shelby Uses $1 Million From Banks To Find Courage To Block CFPB Nominee Richard Cordray

Video - Cenk on Wall Street's favorite politician, Sen. Richard Shelby - Sep. 9, 2011

Republican Senator Richard Shelby wants to block Obama's nominee to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.  Could it possibly be related to the $1 million he took from Goldman Sachs and other banks during the 2010 campaign?

Obama should have just had the sack to nominate Elizabeth Warren, as a fight with the GOP was guaranteed either way.

Chuck the demagoguery.

Chuck the scapegoating.

Chuck the hypocrites.

Chuck the guy with the smiley face otherwise saying essentially: "Let Them Eat Cake" but
with a fxxx-you surprise inside.

Then. Go with principles.

If you are a Democrat: don't gerrymander Dennis Kucinich out of existence. No one has a perfect past.
Nominate him.

If you are a Republican: Romney closest to capable and sane. And, he's actually both except for your
ability to except your own defenses.

Um, Dickhead...Romney?...he is owned by Wall Street.

You do realize he is more captured than Shelby and Issa combined. Sort of strange that you call yourself dickhead, support Kucinich and then ...Romney.

@DB. I know; I was kiddin'...Shelby, the idiot shill vs. Cordray, former Jeopardy champ and US Supreme Ct clerk. Not a fair match, unless Shelby changes the rules...

Cordray was fighting hard against the banks in Ohio, however the voters saw fit to elect the American Banker Association approved candidate for AG Mike DeWine. Although Mike DeWine is a social conservative, he

supports gun control and has an “F” rating from the NRA and Gun Owners of America

he voted against Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Acts (2005)

as Senator he voted $550 Million for Amtrak

voted to fully fund AmeriCorps

voted to allow tax credits to promote home ownership in distressed areas

voted Yes on the $40 Billion/per year Medicare prescription drug benefit

voted to ban drilling in ANWR

voted Yes to allow illegal aliens to participate in Social Security

voted to allow Guest Workers a “path to citizenship”

as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee he missed 50% of the committee’s public hearings, and his attendance at the closed hearings was little better

Kevin DeWine, Mike’s second cousin, is the chairman of the Ohio Republican Party. Instead of allowing the voters to pick the candidate that best represents them, the Columbus politicians pressured Dave Yost to drop out of the primary for AG, and enter the primary for Auditor against Seth Morgan, a conservative, qualified candidate. That ensured that Mike DeWine, who has been a politician, and only a politician for the past 38-years, had no primary challenger.

So much for Democracy in Ohio.

The fact that the banks are spending so much to stop Cordray in this new venture speaks volumes to the fact that he would better serve the people verses the banks still...

However Elizabeth Warren would have been my first pick as well DB.
