I have often wondered why the Bush Administration refused to act on the warnings from Richard Clark and several intelligence sources that indicated a terrorist operation in the U.S. was imminent some time in 2001.

I think the Administration was aware something was in the works. But, their neo-con desires for future geopolitical control of the planet required a (New Pearl Harbor). This would be necessary to get the American People on their side. A successful terrorist strike in the U.S. filled that requirement perfectly.
So they ignored all the warnings and let the operation go forward.

You know! Kind of like the ( Operation Gunrunner) that just bit the present Administration and the ATF in the ass.

After all what real damage can a few Camel Jockeys do? Blow up a bus, bomb a train, take over a building and grab a few hostages? They might even get lucky and pull off something that kills two or three hundred people. But what the hell! You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.

Then after the strike with the American People behind them, the neo-cons could go forward with their plans and accomplish all the goals of the ( Project for The New American Century).

However, what they didn't realize, what bit them in the ass, and what has haunted those involved ever since. Was that the terrorists had planned, organized, and put into effect, the most damaging, killing, horrible act of terror in history.

I hate to say it, but this scenario makes more sense to me then, all the denial, pass the buck, and I didn't know and everyone else was incompetent for not telling me Bullshit I heard after 9-11.
