Bailout Comedy Saturday Night Live Videos: Tim Geithner Is Clueless And Open To Suggestions On Fixing The Banks & Please Do Not Upset 'The Rock' Obama. Broadcast March 7th

Everyone else including the writers for SNL have finally figured out that tax-cheat Tim Geithner is neither qualified nor even intelligent enough to be Treasury Secretary.  Think I'm being harsh?  Read this immediately.  It's a painful kick to the nutz from former PM of Australia Paul Keating that calls into question Timmaaay's intelligence.  I will have more on this soon including some lovely video of Chris Whalen ripping into T.G.  He's getting his deserved comeuppance this weekend from DC all the way to Sydney.

In this clip from SNL last night entitiled 'Tim Geithner Is Open To Suggestions', TG admits he has no idea what to do to solve the banking crisis, and so he is offering a $420 billion reward to the first person with a good idea over the phone.

In the second video, after the jump, an angered President Barack Obama turns into The Rock Obama and handles things slightly differently.  Dwayne Johnson 'The Rock' was the host last night and handled the comedy exceptionally well.

The best part of the sketch is when The Rock Obama receives a call saying that AIG needs more money.  The audience goes wild.  Now explain why the real Barack doesn't do the same.

It's game over for AIG cash injections, by the way.  Mark my word.  Something changed in DC this week.  Those pigs will not get another dime.

Think you might be right on this. Congress was not happy about AIG.

He will get alot of pressure from Congress to say no the next time. Bernanke upset people here this week. I work on the Hill and members and staffs were discussing it openly.

I LOVED the rock Obama...and the audience reaction speaks volumes of how Americans are feeling about this bullshit.

If I had muscles like The Rock, I'd be able to more effectively vent my anger, and maybe bring the smack down on some bailout abusers...Anyone know where I can get some roids?

Timmaaay is a dumb ass - and I love that SNL skewered him. If our country continues to follow failing policy in order to cling to THEIR plan, to maintain ego and save face, this is no change from GW.

@ Everyone

A reader sent me a message saying when he attempts to watch videos on the site it takes him to a login page.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem when watching videos here?

If so, please speak up so that I can work to solve it.

Thanks.

Sounds like a phishing redirect if users are being taken to another login page. I've never seen anything like that here.

Well, I cannot view them it says it is not available from my location,

I am in Italy so what ?

I go to YouTube and look for video under the title and watch it.

@rollo

I have no idea why they don't play for you in Italy.

Studied in firenze (florence) years ago.

Ci sono molte belle ragazze nella firenze. (there are many beautiful women in florence)

Ciao.

Great solution rollo. If any users get a message like "not available from your location" on any of these videos, it is likely the content providers have Geo-IP filtering in place. Try looking for the video at YouTube directly under the title and watch it there. For NBC videos, you could try Hulu.com, but I am not sure if they use Geo-IP filtering as well. Failing those methods, you can always try a Google search for videos under that title. You may get lucky. Then again, you could just try circumventing Geo-IP filtering altogether. :P

For Firefox users: http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/

You will need to be somewhat tech savvy to use these mechanisms properly. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK and don't ask me for any help.

The problem with viewing videos from overseas is common to everyone and spidey just offered teh FIRST solution i've ever seen anyone offer in any chat room. One sees complaints about it all the time all over the web.

I am going to assume the message I got was simply an outlier and that no on else has problems watching videos from within the US.

And for readers based outside the US, I will be more mindful of posting transcripts to videos if i can find them.

I just want to say, please be aware that you could be breaking international or local laws, including the DMCA and agreements with your ISP, if you try an circumvent content access controls. So don't be surprised if the Internet police show up at your door in China or your ISP cancels your account. I am only trying to help with what I believe to be overly-restrictive access and censorship of newsworthy social commentary.

NBC has every right to restrict access given worldwide rights, clearance, royalties, and local law issues. However, I still see this as a form of censorship to the international community. This blog ostensibly is protected under limited education and journalism exemptions.
