Unbelievable!

Mort, the politicians will not solve this problem because they receive MONEY/BRIBES to *NOT* solve the problem! Nothing will change until we have an alternate method of funding the elections -- with public rather than private dollars. Get the political bribes out of the system and they'll fix it overnight.

Jack, the same game is being played with renewables. They are by MANDATE to provide a certain percentage of generation in various states. The cost is higher than more traditional forms and they have the advantage of renewable energy credits trading. In the event wind farms are able to produce more (wind storm) than required by mandate, the Government PAYS them NOT to generate.

Here is a case in point:

[snip]

Six wind farms were given six-figure payments to switch off their turbines because the Scottish grid network could not absorb all the energy being produced, it has emerged.

Research by the Renewable Energy Foundation (REF) found energy companies were paid a total of £900,000 for stopping the turbines for several hours between April 5 and 6 this year.

Our congress and President do not have to listen to the people since the outcome of these elections is no longer controlled by the people. The power brokers determine who not the people. This is very clear, just look at Gov., Walkers utter disregard of his constituents.

This frustrates me. Politicians are always calling Social Security and Medicare "Entitlement Programs." FINE. In case they FORGOT, every time a person gets paid, BY LAW, employers are REQUIRED to withhold funds from these paycheck for both of these programs. If these two programs that American Citizens FUND out of their paycheck are eliminated, then will the law that requires employers to withhold these funds will be null and void? It should be.
