WATCH: Obama Calls Geithner 'One Of The Best Ever'

'Tim will go down as one of the finest Bailout Secretaries in our nation's history.'

UPDATEWashington Post - Geithner Said F*ck The Banks!...

Meanwhile, Geithner tells Politico today he doesn't want Bernanke's job:

Geithner is returning to New York to be with his family and said he has no immediate plans beyond relaxing and traveling with his wife.  Geithner firmly ruled out ever serving as chairman of the Federal Reserve, something that has been mentioned by people close to the outgoing secretary as a possibility down the road.

“Not a chance.  I have great respect for the institution, but that will be someone else's privilege.”

---

Full presser:

Obama says goodbye to Geithner, introduces Jack Lew.

I gave this one 3 minutes and couldn't take it anymore. So here is a problem. I have spoken with two different people the last several days, one a professional, one a working grunt. Both just can't get over the hump of the dem rep problem. They both lambast the previous administration and slam repubs and how evil they are and how the present potus tries really hard and can't get anything done even though he has spent the shit out of the money and sent us into the terminal shitter. They can't wrap their minds around the concept that we are participating in a government that is a two headed coin. At what point do these folks turn off CNN and get off the main line heroin press to figure this stuff out. When I try to expain to them the evils of both parties, the conversation quickly turns. At least the working grunt would hear me out. The professional just simply walked away and all but stuck her fingers in her ears. Just astonishing really.

This piece about Jacob Lew from WSJ illustrates the sick joke that is Hope and Change:

"The greatest irony is that given Mr. Lew's crisis-era resumé, he bears a remarkable resemblance to the bankers who President Obama says created the financial crisis and deserve federal investigation."

It also includes a curious observation on Mr. Lew:

"The fact that almost no one seems to know what exactly he did for that paycheck underlines the fact that Mr. Lew comes to this job not as an expert or practitioner in financial markets, but as a political actor."
