We did this film because we were dissatisfied with what we considered "holes" in films like "Inside Job" and "Capitalism: A Love Story." In particular, the directors of the films, which are indisputably excellent, seem to buy into the ludicrously falsifiable--and falsified, per Minneapolis Fed Working Paper No. 666--notion that we had to bail out a bunch of blustery pussies.

So what we did was cruise around the country interviewing (1) ordinary Americans who got shafted and (2) the smartest people in the business to outline the crimes that are killing us all.

Sean (the super-energetic director) and his crew (I insist on cinematography that rivals Sergio's) did all of us right. The result is a film that I'm proud to forth as representative of our times.

It's coming, ladies and gentlemen. Of that you may rest assured.

The cast and crew of "Bailout" are forever indebted to the fearless Americans, on both sides of the rotted political aisle, who shared their knowledge:

Noam Chomsky
Sheriff Tom Dart (Cook County, Ill.)
Karl Denninger
Chris Hedges
Steve Megremis
Dylan Ratigan
Yves Smith
Christopher Whalen

The tagline of our work: "A movie by Americans, for Americans."

Game on, folks.

Cheyenne,

That's quite a lineup. Are all of those folks in the film? Either way, can't wait to see this thing.

Dr. P--

We've yet to film Noam, but we gotta date/time.

Yeah, everyone else is in, many times. I haven't tabulated the # of appearances per character for a few cuts, but the last time I did Yves and Ratigan were tied for the lead at roughly 30 per.

I watched the flick every night last week, just 'cuz it makes me laugh my ass off. But to circle back to your question, every name in that last list appears repeatedly.

Now I'm going back to Colts-Bucs. Good game.

I'm watching the game myself. That last injury, the ankle that bent towards the devil, was ugly.

Yep, pitchfork. And Ratigan is the star in my opinion. I've seen the whole thing about 4 times. Ratigan rocks the house. Especially one particular line about Hank Paulson.

Yeah, Ratigan doesn't hold back. But Yves' fire is undeniable.

And Whalen, Karl, that cat Megrmis throw down for sure. And Dart is just unreal.

When I interviewed everyone, most of the time they're looking at me like the biggest dumbass in the world, which I am. Thank Jesus I learned how to ask the same question 5 different ways, though. You get what you need that way, and don't have to iinterrogate 30 witnesses. The hell with that. I'd rather be known as a dumbass.

Sounds fantastic, guys. Cannot wait to see this film. I wouldn't want to pigeon-hole it before I see it, but the cast of characters (and it is that) makes it a sort of alternative version of Inside Job -- at least as far as the interviewees go. No Roubini, no Glenn Hubbard (zzzzzzzzzzzzz), no leaving Yves Smith out of the final cut...

Cheyenne, if you have any kind of post-launch party or whatever, or have any occasion to bring Whalen, Ratigan and Megremis into the same conversation, you should have someone film THAT. I mean who's gonna talk first? Is Ratigan going to take a breath before Whalen bursts....? Those three could talk the paint off a Cadillac faster than you could say credit default swap.

Congrats on seeing it through...

Funny you say that Pitchfork, because in my phone conversations with Ratigan I find my self interrupting him repeatedly, and then lamenting it later...shocker, I know.

When I see Dylan at the NY party for Bailout the movie, I'm going to propose that he hire me as his ambush reporter for his msnbc show...I will chase down these fuckers in DC like there's no tomorrow and annihilate them on camera...what I have going for me is a complete lack of respect for anything and anyone.

Cheyenne,

I didn't watch the "Vemo" trailer on inside job until just now. As I read through the posts I see this is your project? I'm blown away! What a wonderful thing to do. I wish I could be of help to you. Though that is unlikely, I'm very much impressed and again, would more than willing.

I grew up in Las Vegas so if perhaps if DB and anyone that I can be of some help in Vegas, though I know it's not about Vegas, please let me know. For it humble worth.

I'm really excited to see it and hope it's a tick out of the park. I'll keep speading the word. Just one word comes to mind. WOW!

You have many fine talents. DB you know some talented people.
