Video: Michelle Bachmann Auditions To Be President - Tea Party State of the Union Response

We are not 5 year-olds, Michele.  Her voice and over-accentuated inflection made me hit stop after 64 seconds.  If anyone can stand the whole thing, write a summary in comments.

Also, finish this sentence in comments below:

  • "If Michele Bachmann represents the Tea Party, then..."

Policeman assaulting man over his "don't tread on me" hat...which supposedly you are not allowed to wear in court.

Tough listen and view. But to answer your question;

Then the Tea Party is exactly what is purports to be; a loose band of citizens (re: amateurs) trying to affect the process. This is a god thing, the same reason why I could have supported Palin three years ago (no longer). The professional, polished, political machines that have morphed into a singe party of power and corruption are exactly the problem. That they make the tea party "citizens" seem unable to rise to the task is total nonsense.

If you get a chance, go back in time and read The Making of the President, 1972. That election was transcendent, it really changed the entire game. It's a quick read, then coupled with a little thought about what's happened since, you can really see how the cocoons of power were built.

Another annoying talking head like Fox News and Sarah Palin. Go away wannabe President.

If Michelle Bachmann represents the Tea Party, then... if I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I thought she was harmless, rather Palin-esque. Even with a cheerleader for president, a valley girl as VP and a sorority pledge as Treasury Secretary, we'd do a Hell of a lot better than with the quant crooks we have today.

Soooo - Are you disagreeing with what she said or just the way "she said it" - meaning - the way you heard it?

"If Michelle Bachmann represents the Tea Party, then..." There is hope for the country.

Instead of picking on the way she spoke, which was fine actually, tell us what you disagreed with.

Turn back regulation, hmmmmm, how did we get here again?

America's number 1 export is jobs.

mike...i'm too radical for the tea party...i don't have time now but if you search you can find my views...

I can't help but wonder if she'd have anything to say if her teleprompter were taken away . . .

Whatever semblance of coherency the Tea Movement ever had left the building quite some time ago. But in that house with more than its share questionable characters, Bachman is especially bugfuck crazy and dumber than dogshit to boot. Pretending otherwise is pure folly and intensely unbecoming; believing otherwise is, well, damn.

I was looking for something along these lines...

"If Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin represents the Tea Party, the Tea Party is fucked..."

thanks oberron...i agree and that's why i still have hope for the movement...you said it perfectly...a loose group of amateurs trying to make actual change...so i hate to see it co-opted by bachmann or palin or gingrich or others...

as far as i am concerned, the GOP is still the same bull shit party as always...the same as the Democrats...these are the 5 parties that run this country...

health care pharma party

big energy party

war - defense party

banking - insurance party

agriculture party

"...these are the 5 parties that run this country..."

never have seen it spelled out quite that way, but it's a great way of putting things.

I think (fear) that party# 6 is emerging as well, the "Google/Big Technology" party.

One of the parties does stand out from the rest though, in that it contributes nothing of tangible utility to our lives, where as the others all have some degree of utility from time to time...

DB nails it! Follow the money behind the vast majority of political candidates and this simple breakdown is pretty difficult to deny.

You need to call it the Agribusiness Party Steve, it is the chemical, seed, corporate megafarms, meat packers, processors, shippers, that are the benefactors of the graft system and party cronyism's, not the farmer.

They are f@cking the farmer just as much as the rest of you.

Hi Spidey, good to see you.

@S. Gompers.

Good clarification.

I would also replace banking - insurance with Financial Services Party, since this includes credit card companies, payday loan companies, debt collection companies, brokerages and investment firms, credit rating agencies, and everyone's favorite GSEs as well as banks and insurance companies. Everyone wants a piece of the debt slave pie.

yes to both of your suggestions...i've actually written about it in more detail in a few stories and i did broaden the names for the controlling parties...was just trying to be fast earlier when i responded...i agree with the comment from the new poster who mentioned a Big Tech Party...he might be right considering the power of google in the obama white house these days...

@DB & S. Gompers

I hope all is well with you both or improving. While they are not quite at the level of Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, The Future of Food and Food, Inc. are both great documentaries covering Agribusiness. I really enjoyed them.

Unrelated, but also touching on lobbyists, political corruption, and miscarriage of the rule of law, The Art of the Steal is another great documentary about the Barnes art collection. It made me want to cry, but I laughed about the irony of Annenberg's will and his own art collection to The Met.

P.S. I just noticed the new subheading for the site, "Debt & Deficit Portal. Bailout News. Federal Reserve Corruption." I love it!

Doing fine Spidey, hope you are doing the same.

Stick around, and I will have to check that out.

Money, Sex, Fear, and Greed is what runs this country. Sometimes thoe, Not in that Order. Once these people come into power, the "Greed" gos stright to the top.....................!

Do away with Washington and return the power to the states. This country would do just fine with 10% goverment in Washington. Its how it all started out, after all. It all gos back to "The Dollar".....?

What about the civil war my dear pal T?
Jan 28, 2011 at 5:10 PM | Unregistered CommenterFrank Le Speaking
That was then,and this is Now..........! What we have now is not workin. Everything Washington is doing now is just wrong. Sooooooo, by dumping washington down to just 10% to do what is was set up to do for us.......( work for us ) and let the states run our own buisness, things cant be any worser'er, Right...?

If we took out the Gimmy-Gimmy-Gimmy Cash hands in washington, big business will have no power to control us. Everyone has thAre hand down the front of the Bastards pants yanking on the "Ped-of-thAre-Hecker" putting Cash in the back pockets.

The Goverment is the Weak Link in the chain. I would leave Barney Frank in the 10% so big business will still have something to yank on. Little Goverment could go back to working for the people like they did before ........Money, Sex, Fear, and Greed........got in the mix.

I know this will neaver happen, but it makes me feel better till I can have a drink tonight. Hey, good talkin with ya again...........ya "Doin Alright Tonight"..............been-a-wile.....?
