Update From Senator DeMint on Ron Paul's Bill (S604 and HR1207) To Audit The Federal Reserve (Clip)

Independent Socialist Bernie Sanders and Conservative Republican Jim DeMint both supported       S 604 (officially the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009) which is the Senate version of Ron Paul's HR 1207.  As readers know, the Senate Democratic leadership in concert with President Obama, blocked and effectively derailed the attempt to audit the Federal Reserve, which would provide much-needed transparency into the details of the Fed's $10 trillion plus in bailout commitments.

The best line from host Judge Andrew Napolitano:

"The job of the CIA is to steal and to keep secrets...yet we know more about the CIA than the Federal Reserve."

And from DeMint, we have this beauty beginning at the 3:20 mark:

"All we need is to get it up for a vote and most Senators would be ashamed to vote against it.  So I'm going to keep bringing it up as amendments to different bills and if we can get it on a Senate bill, then it will meet the House side...Nancy Pelois is going to keep this from coming up in the House, I think, no matter how many co-sponsors they get, just because she is cooperating with the Obama administration to keep the secrets that the Federal Reserve doesn't want us to know about."

DeMint also expresses the fear of many who believe the Fed will simply monetize the debt by continuing to purchase Treasuries through its so-far failed program of quantitative easing or queasing as some have called it.

Queasing is defined as "The official government doublespeak for printing money out of thin air."

this bill is a good idea -but shouldn's demint be figuring out new ways to block the federal govt from extending unemployment benis to his constituents in S.C. (which has HUGE unemploymen t#s)-kind of like Jindahl and The Quitter from AK
