Clinton Tech Says Hillary’s Private Email System Was ‘Attacked’ Forcing Server Shutdown

Wednesday morning a scathing audit of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton‘s email usage (along with the email use of Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, and others) was released. Investigators with the State Department Inspector General’s Office found that Clinton likely violated federal record keeping rules when she maintained the private server at her New York home. However, buried in the 83-page audit report may be an even more significant new piece of information. A tech advisor servicing the Clinton private email system reportedly notified Clinton’s staff that someone was trying and then had possibly “attacked” her server. In the report, Clinton also complained about receiving suspicious emails. Auditors found that she may have violated procedure by not notifying the proper security personnel about the emails. The OIG’s report seems to contradict what presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton told NBC’s Andrea Mitchell in a recent interview about whether there was any “indication she had been hacked.”
Here is the section from page 41 of the report which references an “attack”:

Lawyers for a former top aide to Hillary Clinton filed a motion on Wednesday asking a federal court to bar a conservative watchdog group from releasing a videotape of her upcoming deposition as part of a lawsuit related to Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of State.

Both Mills and Samuelson have maintained close ties to Clinton since leaving the State Department in February 2013. In fact, both were involved in reviewing the emails that Clinton eventually turned over to the State Department in December 2014. Politico reported in September that Samuelson was charged by Mills and Clinton’s attorney, David Kendall, with sifting through Clinton’s emails to determine which ones should be kept and given to the State Department and which should be deleted.

The fundraiser was one of at least three interactions between Wang and McAuliffe, according to the businessman’s representative. McAuliffe initially told reporters this week he could not remember ever meeting Wang, though he later clarified that his staff had informed him of several likely meetings. “I did no deals,” McAuliffe said Wednesday in a radio interview. “I would not know the man if he sat in the chair next to me.”

The deposition of the 27-year State Department veteran came as part of a court-ordered process for the watchdog group Judicial Watch to gather evidence in a lawsuit against the State Department concerning Clinton's private server. The interview was conducted in Washington last Wednesday, and a transcript was released Thursday.
