BlackRock Inc. recently tested its new bond-trading platform without telling the Wall Street securities dealers that dominate that business, a move that miffed some traders at the banks in the latest sign of tension over who ultimately will control securities trading.

Maria Bartiromo is a bankster parrot. Eliot Spitzer caused the collapse of AIG? Huh? I don't get it. Did Spitzer go out and write $3 trillion of credit default swaps in AIG's name? Is Spitzer the federal judge who ruled that Hank Greenberg began AIG's conspiracy to defraud?

And why is this "journalist" lying about having read the federal court's opinion, which, by the most pregnant pause I've ever seen in TV history following Spitzer's question on the point, she obviously hadn't? Because she's an ADVOCATE for AIG's federally discredited opinion, that's why.

I love the way Eliot saw Maria's ambush coming from a mile away. He even had the judge's opinion in hand just below the camera and sprang it on her like a knife. She was actually stunned into silence. Maria Bartiromo: bum-rushed on her own show!

Still, what the hell got into Spitzer telling a TV host that she's under oath?! Jesus, Eliot, reel it in, man; you already demolished a CNBC host on camera.

Fantastic clip!

Cheyenne I think you might be missing the part about obama's backer warren buffet it wasn't like spitzer went after AIG for altruistic reasons as Robert Wenzel points out...

Spitzer lets it slip in this interview. It was the Oligarch from Omaha, Warren Buffett, who caused Spitzer to go after AIG, a major competitor of Buffett's in the insurance business.

. But the most fascinating part of this clip is to learn a bit about how Warren "Howdy Doody" Buffett really plays the game behind the scenes. Who knew he was calling up government enforcers to provoke investigations of his competitors?

I don't care why Spitzer went after Herb Greenberg. He was corrupt and ran AIG for his personal benefit and ripped off shareholders along the way. But Maria has a soft spot for the old crooner, and she goes so far as to say that if Hank had been running the show, that the London office (Jumpin' Joe Cassano) wouldn't have blown up the company.

Bullshit.

Hank would have loved the CDS market.

As for Buffett, yes he's a hypocritical bastard. Great link you provided from Rolfe Winkler. Thanks.

Sounded like a lie to me as well...

A lot of people don't like Spitzer. Whalen is one of them. He made a reference to Eliot in a recent post. I don't know the details but I know enough about Whalen not to doubt his knowledge. From my standpoint, I could care less about Spitzer's personal weakness and corruption. Sex politics just don't interest me. I do know that Spitzer would have launched hundreds of wall st. fraud cases if he were AG instead of holder.

Another thing, Spitzer doesn't like Geithner. And in my book, that's always a solid thing to have on your resume.

I try not to get too caught up in people's motivations. Crimes are crimes, and cases either stick or they don't for that reason.

Along those lines, I still think that fat fraud from Omaha should be investigated for his patently obvious insider's dump of MCO shares the same day Moody's got its Wells notice.

Well, now I have no reason to ever watch Maria Bartiromo say or do anything again. I love the power of my remote control and I plan to use it.

THIS is fraud. He is being her butt puppet. For the purpose of nothing defninitve being said. He is on her side or he would point out he is dealing in facts. It's how "facts" are used to undermine their own validity.

This is a false debate by disreputable people who have not business inside our consciousness.

For anyone that is interested in the facts: That federal judge's opinion that Spitzer was holding in his hands and quoting from during the interview is worth about as much as Eliot's career. That decision was reversed and vacated by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Why was it reversed? Prosecutorial misconduct. Oh, and by the way, Greenberg wasn't a party (defendant or otherwise) in that case, so he never knew about the allegations and never had an opportunity to respond to them. Not that it matters, because the decision was reversed. Vacated. Gone. Doesn't exist. Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer doesn't seem to care about silly little things like facts and the law.

Good to know about the vacated decision, but bear in mind that prosecutorial misconduct does not unequivocally expunge the person originally found guilty, but all the more, this is a very good point which further exposes the known lies being perpetrated by these propagandists.

There is no value to either side in this debate. Both have points to defend and truth and informing the public is not happening. Ignore these horrid media and find out what's really going on.

Good call SBG Trader, thank you.

Do you have a legal cite, SGBTrader? I'd like to look at the 2nd Circuit's reversal. Res judicata is a tricky thing, as I'm sure you know. What you're saying is that Bartiromo got blow-torched by dead letter, which speaks pretty badly about her legal team.

The 2nd Circuit is the same Court that upheld Mark Piittman's FOIA win over the Fed after C.J, Preska granted his summary judgnment motion. If what you say is correct, it casts a very bad light on Mr Spitzer, abouit whom I'd like to reconsider my opinion.

Thanks in advance...

By the way, your remark about Greenberg's lack of knowledge based on his not being a party striles me as disingenuous. The Rules permit joinder to avert such unfairness, no? I don"t have the Rules ar hand, but I think it"s 19(b).

Hank Greenberg has no one to blame but his lawyers. He's not the innocent you make him out to be.

Cite is 653 F.3d 61 (2d.Cir. 2011).

The Second Circuit vacated and remanded. DOJ decided not to retry the case. The 2d Cir opinion noted that one of the two primary gov't witnesses was not credible. Came pretty close to flat out calling the guy a liar. Yikes.
