SNL Presidents Reunion: Obama Gets Advice On Financial Reform - Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Chevy Chase, Dana Carvey

Video -  Produced by Ron Howard and Funny or Die - March 2, 2010

Barack Obama gets a surprise visit in the night from ex-Presidents Bush 41 and 43, Clinton, Ford, Reagan and Carter.

Video:  Dana Carvey as George Bush 41

Video:  Behind the scenes video from the shoot

Reagan says:

  • "I've come back from the dead to tell Mr. Reach-Across-The-Aisle here to grow a pair."

Obama seems unpersuaded by the ex-presidents, whose financial deregulation, beginning with Reagan and extending through Clinton and the Bushes, led to the current crisis.

"What you're saying is, I should take on this mess that you all created? Take on the banks and their trillions of dollars?" Obama says. "How's this helpful?"  "It's a bitch. It's a bitch," says Reagan. "But as George Washington once said to John Adams: 'Tag. You're it.'"

  • "Nothin' wrong with one term, Barack," Ford tells him.

Hollywood isn't generally known for precisely timed or well-defined campaigns aimed at specific legislative language as bills move through Congress. But the clip, directed by Ron Howard and written by Adam McKay and Al Jean, was produced in coordination with Americans for Financial Reform, a major pro-reform coalition based in Washington, and it hits just as Senate negotiators work toward a compromise on the CFPA in the Banking Committee.

Obama is a Liar: Illegal Wars, Fraudulent Bailouts, Egregious Assault on Civil Liberties

Even the left wing socialists have had it with this guy.

"Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours?” Stack wrote. “Yet at the same time, the joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering tens of thousands of people a year and stealing from the corpses and victims they cripple, and this country’s leaders don’t see this as important as bailing out a few of their vile, rich cronies. Yet, the political ‘representatives’ (thieves, liars, and self-serving scumbags is far more accurate) have endless time to sit around for year after year and debate the state of the ‘terrible health care problem’. It’s clear they see no crisis as long as the dead people don’t get in the way of their corporate profits rolling in."

If any of those men would have had half the intelligence, character, and concern for the American Citizen that Jefferson did the USA and the world today would be a much better place than the mess we have now.
JEFFERSON KNEW & Understood the evils of Government grown too big!
"It has been said the greatest volume of sheer brainpower in one place occurred when Jefferson dined alone..."
John Kennedy

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as  Europe.
Thomas Jefferson

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.
Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
Thomas Jefferson

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Thomas Jefferson

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802
'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'

I had Kennybot pegged from day one. Yes, right out of the gate. He is here to promote his site. You don't have to thank me DB for pointing that out to you nine thousand times. It is your hard work DB that is laughed at by Kennybot and RLR. Like I have said many times, if he is not paying you then I am at a loss for why you let him ruin your hard work.

I am also right that almost all if not all of his posts are from a computer program designed to spam this site to promote the owner of PH site.

Obama is just a symptom of the Virus that infects the body of Humanity. Even if we cure his equation from the problem, the problem will continue to exist. Some where along the line a bloodless coup occured while America was sleeping. The government no longer serves the people as congress and the courts prove as they continue to illegally bar investigation in important matters that affect us all. It's time to wake up...not just America, but the world in general.

That was a real Nikko quote, not one of yours... Sounds similar to Ken's though.

.38 is a tiny caliber for me, it might fit you nicely though. One term and gone, everyone see's that.

Gomp, please, you are boring DB. We must stick to apolitical beings who are not on the right or on the left and support the non-traditional viewpoints of outsiders and those not connected to the power base of greedy corrupt politicians and interested parties. We must support third party with close ties to the liberal mentality and the insufferable left. They must be fiscally independent conservative and socially liberal connected and sympathetic. No not pathetic, sympathetic.

Gomp, please don’t be confused. I am being sardonic. I think I have caught Obamaitis.

Go support your dress wearing, gun banning, liberal, Rudy then Gobie. You always have had a strange way of making liberal the new conservative.

I am sure that somewhere on u-tube you will find proof of everything you desire, after all, if you see it on the tube it must be real, right (that is why u-tube is admissible in court after all)? At least that is what my grandson thinks of cartoons (2.5 years old).

OMG, Gobie, I think I have found all you are searching for...

It will get much better now, just ignore all you see around you...

"Thats the one that bothers me just a little bit, with this fall comming up ?"

Bothers me too T.Dar But what the hell! True freedom is something that the corrupt parasites ruling this country will one way or another outlaw if they can.
May take a little bleeding to show them that they can't, actually it may take a hell of a lot of bleeding but it's that or get ready to be turned into a brain dead consumer in a society that will make Orwell's 1984 seem like a desirable alternative existence.

From ancient Greece to today true freedom has always come with a price. That price it seems is always paid in blood on a battlefield.

And there are cows for tipping and old goats that need attention. I'm sorry, what are we talking about???
Aug 11, 2010 at 2:03 AM | Unregistered CommenterZ
We won't pretend you know anything about cow tipping Gobie, and goats require little attention, as they are very independent by nature, King of the mountain and all.

But you are right, sheep have very short attention spans...

They probably did not cover that in your talking points memo, or you simply forgot.

1984 was a interesting read Sagebrush, I might have to reread it, as it has been a while. It was required reading when I was a sophmore. Then 1984 came and went without a hitch, and I have not thought about it in a while. Orwell may have been onto something, just perhaps a few decades off.
Aug 11, 2010 at 2:50 AM | Unregistered CommenterS. Gompers

Orwell was for sure on to something, he was as you say 25 or 30 years early but it seems he saw all this coming.

Watched the movie midway through G.W.'s Constitution shredding term in office.

Scared the crap out of me then and it looks like things have only gotten worse for a majority of Americans.

From what I remember in high school the book is even scarier then the movie.

Might require a couple of antidepressants and a few beers for relaxed reading

I don't know about the antidepressants, but a few beers and a sword handy, that would interest me...
