I had a BofA account for years, I actually got it with my first job when I was 15. You'd think being a customer for over a decade would matter, but of course it did not. I closed it last year, and it felt AWESOME. Screw Bank of America.

Why in the world anyone would bank with Bank of America is beyond me. Cooperative banks and credit unions are AWESOME. In many cases, the management actually knows you and goes out of their way to help you. And with credit unions, you are effectively the owner of the bank -- they work for you, not the other way around.

I love my small, local co-op and the credit unions we bank with. Regardless of the new fees from Citi and BofA et al., banking locally is just a more pleasant experience.
