Ron Paul Vs. Alan Greenspan

Paul vs. Greenspan Highlight Clip - Through the Years

Given Greenspan's recent budget and debt comments, we decided to take a short look back at several exchanges between the former Fed Chairman and his dollar-protective nemesis.  Within the first 30 seconds, the ever-prescient Dr. Paul recommends that Greenspan retire early and escape the coming monetary storm.  Greenspan did not heed his advice, at least until 2005, though he did escape before the bubble burst and left the majority of the blame to Bernanke.

So interesting to see Ron Paul, the only guy who could have saved us, had the same debating tactics all the way through his career. Never box the opponent into a corner and force his to confess something, just lecture away at him. Why didn't he just ask Greenspan 'how much have you printed in the last 12 months? That would have got him in the news.

RP could have just re-run so many of these soundbites during the Primary season, so folks would see he had been right for years.

I agree with the criticism of Ron Paul's style. However, Greenspan, though guilty of many things, is not guilty of printing (monetizing the debt), or printing to buy MBS, or QE of any sort.
