Rockin' Bernanke's World: Friday Night Political Comedy With Jibjab (MUST SEE VIDEOS)

Video:  JibJab presents "This Land Is Your Land" (song)

President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry star in the political animation parody that was seen on every continent (including Antarctica), it even played on the International Space Station.

-----

I watched approximately 30 Jibjab animated political clips tonight and chose the best 8 to present here.  They are all very short, running between 30 seconds and 2 minutes each.  I am putting perhaps the most famous clip here on the front page to give you an idea of their content.  I made an effort to include clips that make fun of both parties, so neither side will feel slighted.

These are extremely professional, well produced videos that you'll probably want to share with friends, which is why I took the time to include only the absolute best.  Definitely no miss.

-----

Video: Time for some campaignin'

In our first election satire since 2004's "This Land" and "Good to be in DC", we bid farewell to Bush and give Obama and McCain a proper JibJab hazing!  And, of course, who could forget about Hillary and Bill?  This rip-roaring musical romp gives the election process the proper spanking it deserves.

Video: Barack & Hillary star in High School Musical 3

-----

Video: Obama, Clinton, Edwards, Kucinich and McCain dance the Presidential CanCan

-----

Video: Bush's Second Term (song)

When George W Bush won re-election, we just had to do something about it.  Namely, make another political satire! Watch Bill Clinton, John Kerry and John Edwards sing to their hearts content!

-----

Video: Good to be in DC!

Those ca-razy politicians are at it again. Hilarity ensues when President George W Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Senators John Edwards and John Kerry reprise their roles in the funny video follow up to ""This Land"". Dubya! (Shakes fist at sky)

-----

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama musically argue it out over who is the better candidate in this song satirizing "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better."

-----

Video:  The Founding Fathers Rap

Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and our alpha president George Washington will forever be remembered as the Founding Fathers.

-----

Two clips that were funny but didn't make the cut:

Bush and McCain Dance Ballet  >>

Hillary Clinton: Valentine's Day Striptease for Bill  >>

DB,

Although we're very proud of Franklin, he spent huge chunks of his life shaking Philly's dust off his feet (like Cosby, Will Smith, W.C. Fields and many others). Soft pretzels, Cheesesteaks and Scrapple just aren't enough for some, I guess.

UPDATE 2-Bernanke seeks govt audit of Fed's AIG bailout

Tue, Jan 19 2010NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. securities regulators originally treated the New York Federal Reserve's bid to keep secret many of the details of the American International Group bailout like a request to protect matters of national security, according to emails obtained by Reuters.

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to find & collect these little gems, they're much appreciated!

As I was watching some of them it ocurred to me that -traditionally- political humor focuses on one or two outstanding quirks from any given candidate and then magnifies them into caricaturistic proportions for a cheap laugh.

However with GW Bush we suddenly found ourselves with a LIVING CARICATURE that actually seemed to need almost NO exaggeration in order to come across as stupidly foolish, backwards and ignorant.

This apparently obvious TRUTH leads me almost inevitably to the following question then; "why didn't everyone LAUGH LIKE CRAZYwhenever GW Bush gave a speech?"

BESIDES Al Qaida, I mean.
