MADRID — The Occupy Wall Street Movement is going global. The Website 15october.net says citizens from 951 cities in 82 countries will take to the streets on Saturday under the slogan, “UNITED FOR #GLOBALCHANGE.”

The Website says: ”From America to Asia, from Africa to Europe, people are rising up to claim their rights and demand a true democracy. Now it is time for all of us to join in a global non violent protest. The ruling powers work for the benefit of just a few, ignoring the will of the vast majority and the human and environmental price we all have to pay. This intolerable situation must end.”

Holy shit this is for real.

Bloggers like DB and Yves and Karl et al. have been bitching relentlessly for years about the daily dose of crap. And it's been ignored, officially at least.

Not anymore. This fucker is serious.

I cribbed the following from the OccupyChicago message board, which I visit with wild abandon occasionally, just to raise hell. But take a look at this response to the 1st 2 comments on the board, which were adamant that we're NOT living in a police state:

I'm sorry but you both couldn't be more wrong. This is a police state just ask any of the hundreds of thousands of people in jail who never hurt anyone or stole anything from anybody. Or the people who have had their homes and property seized without being convicted or even charged with a crime. Or the people here in Il. who face jail time for filming the police. If it's not a police state then why are there more people inprison here than any other country on the planet?

"The only reason we are being allowed to occupy is that removing us would be more trouble than it's worth. Trust me if hundreds or thousands of people started showing up they wouldn't be allowed to stay long. Just look at what happened last Monday over at the Art Institute. We are treating the government with respect by obeying their orders and acting in a civilized non violent manner. It is time the corrupt politcians start treating the people that they are supposed to be serving with respect. Then maybe we wouldn't have to be out there.

And just for the record I am an employed 57 year old white man who has never been arrested. So I have no personal axe to grind other than being disgusted by what has happened to this country over the past forty years."

When you start reading that level of articulated anger in your daily rag or 2, it is GAME ON.

I must wonder aloud how long it'll be before some enterprising chaps like those at zerohedge figure out a way to correlate #Occupy activity and stock market action?

zerohedge has largely ducked the #Occupy movement. Is that due to zh's putatively phenomenal predictive powers? Or is zh waiting for a convenient entry point?

Which brings me back to my original question.

Cheyenne, what we're seeing now is really a second, larger wave of anger and awareness. I forget when you said you started looking into the whole bailout debacle, but I remember in early 2009 you could not read Business Insider, for example, or even Yahoo Finance -- to say nothing of Zero Hedge, Market Ticker and (of course) The Daily Bail -- without someone advocating out-and-out revolution. Every single day someone was trying to get people to riot in the streets and take a stand. Or else they were openly wishing for the death and dismemberment of Tim Geithner or Ben Bernanke. That is no exaggeration. Every single day.

But the people making these comments were ones who already knew what was going on, people who already had some idea of what a CDO is, or a CDS, people who understood terms like "Maiden Lane" and "TALF." In other words, it was people from within or around the markets who first "got it" and were mad as hell about it all.

Somehow the message has gotten out that, well..."Banks got bailed out, we got sold out." And the economy, as one of my favorite economists likes to say, is still "in the shitter." What's happening now is definitely real. I've been waiting three years for this. I don't care if they don't know what a synthetic collateralized debt obligation is, I'm just glad they're angry.

The protestors at Occupy Wall St. are “Useful Idiots” and they don’t even understand what they are being used for. They are being used, hook, line and sinker by the Communist Party. Within two weeks, Van Jones will stick his head out of the mud and declare himself the hero and savior of the movement and then all of the protesters will be “dispersed” as “non-essential” to the movement. Ushering in communism is the goal here by collapsing the capitalist government of the U.S. Protesters, if you think you have problems now, wait a couple more weeks! Your problems are just starting! http://floydreports.com/lenin-was-right-occupy-wall-street-protesters-are-useful-idiots/ ..........and to take this to one problem that needs to be addressed by the protesters is debt. Their debt is being scammed by the system they are protesting to/about and here is one of their problems they don't understand: The people on Occupy Wall Street are going after the wrong people by attacking workers and CEO’s of Wall street. The real problem with “debt” is with the Universities that place these protesters at risk and in debt. For instance, take Columbia University. Their returns on investments with “Wall Street” on their endowments within the University was 23.8%. Hypocrites? You bet. Blame them and their salaries and benefits while teaching liberalism. http://www.pionline.com/article/20111013/DAILYREG/111019935/columbia-endowment-investments-return-236

The protests are misdirected!

Most politicians are complicit and allowed the greed to happen, encouraged by their laws and under their watch. Then they actually perpetuated the greed by providing a Bonus payment of $800 Billion. I say the Feds were dealing drug money. . .no wonder the banks got addicted. . .

So why are we persecuting the user instead of the source?

Yes, the current worldwide protests are misdirected by the uninformed and misinformed. . . Until we start taking away the "Drug" Money funding of the United States Congress, have international protests, including Icelanders, focused in our Congresses backyards instead of the business capitals of the world, they will continue to hatch more absurd regulations to further skew us from a competitive, free market system and permanently drag the world down with us.

MSM still talks about it today. If it was a OWS dude, we would see it everyday across American Citys........"We Dont"......he was a plant from the thugs with a badge group....I'll bet ya a Keg of Beer....?
