President Obama Responds To His Critics: "Actually, I Am A Buddhist, And Tim Geithner Is My Half-Brother"

MSNBC Video:  The Deficit President talks with Brian Williams

Runs 23 minutes.  Shorter clips from the same interview are below.

  • "I can't spend all of my life with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead."

Hopefully this puts the issue to rest.  Obama is a Buddhist who was born in Tibet to a teenage mother who was said to be having an affair with the Dalai Lama

Tim's father Peter Geithner later impregnated the same woman during a drunken weekend stopover in Dharmashala in 1962.  So yes, Geithner and Obama are half brothers.  You think I'm kidding?

Carrie Dann writes: Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is enjoying a new round of perennial presidential candidacy buzz – he came in a surprisingly strong third in a recent 2012 preference poll among Iowa Republicans - but his personal life continues to dog him.

Conservative Republican Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma bluntly stated his concern about the twice-divorced, thrice-married Gingrich during a Friday town hall.

"He's the last person I'd vote for for president of the United States,” Coburn said, per the Tulsa World. “His life indicates he does not have a commitment to the character traits necessary to be a great president."

A judge in Virginia has set aside Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's subpoena of University of Virgina documents relating to research by Michael Mann, a former professor who was involved in the "Climate-Gate" controversy last year.

Cuccinelli, a climate change skeptic, said he was investigating whether Mann had committed fraud when obtaining government funds for research into human-caused climate change, but Albemarle County Circuit Court Judge Paul M. Peatross Jr. ruled that "it is not clear what [Mann] did was misleading, false or fraudulent in obtaining funds from the Commonwealth of Virginia."

Washington, Aug 27 (ANI): This could literally be called pee power to the people-researchers have figured out a way to make the world's first urine-powered fuel cells.

Chemistry postdocs Shanwen Tao and Rong Lan at Heriot-Watt University's School of Engineering and Physical Sciences in Edinburgh are turning pee into electricity and clean water with a prototype fuel cell system. I had heard about pee-power for robots, but not pee-power for everyone.

The Republicans are so funny, when the economy is good you say let’s all celebrate “Cinco de Mayo, my brothers” but when the economy is down “it’s all your fault, you damn immigrant”. When most Americans (with Latin America roots) go to the polls this November we will remember that the GOP has gone on a nationwide rant in proposing and passing several anti-immigration legislation (that our US Courts continue to strike down) and have continue to blame the immigrant for the flat economy or worse. We will remember who stands with us and who stands against us, so trying to stop it now is somewhat funny, but go ahead, you will not change our minds. And if thats not enough the more radical of the GOP are now attacking our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, in a misguided attempt to garner some much needed votes, they really are fools, and leading the GOP towards obscurity because they are no longer a party of ideas, just of empty suits. Your hate made you do it, in November; you will reap what you have sown. I wonder what Abraham Lincoln would say about todays GOP, he unlike the current GOP was a man of ideas.

PS - 2012 Newt just wants another fling with another intern.

“Great links gomp...more need to be aware of how mexico treats illegals... “

Yes it is a shame that most do not know the truth, only the propaganda. I lived for a time in southern Nevada and have seen first hand the “blessings” of illegal immigration. While I believe wholeheartedly in legal immigration, illegal immigration is a crime in every sense of the word. The “coyotes” who illegal immigrants pay to lead them across the border believe it is their right to rape the women if it suits them, leave people to die in the desert, and have the illegal immigrants “mule” drugs into America mule. All these things are crimes by the way, even though the coyotes do not recognize the rights of man or the authority of the United States, and in Mexico they are crimes as well, they are just easier to pay off down there, and threaten law enforcement here.

It is interesting that Benito has chosen to invoke Lincoln as “a man of ideas” or protector of the Constitution, or whatever he was trying to get at. While Lincoln did try to put us into a sound money by issuing Greenbacks and denying a central bank, he pretty much thrashed the Constitution in many ways, so he would probably be proud of the current GOP:

http://www.wolvesofliberty.com/2010/07/26/unchaining-ourselves-from-the-lincoln-myth-things-your-teacher-never-taught-you-part-3/

I would suggest that those who believe as Benito, first get their own country in order before telling us how to live. We receive so much from those who come here as criminals, and choose to be criminals with our governments blessings as it is.

I do not celebrate Cinco de Mayo by the way, but I do celebrate the capture of Santa Anna, and they say he looked very fashionable in his frilly silk underwear when he was caught.

Both parties ignore this, one for cheap labor, the other for cheap votes. And now we put up with signs in our own country stating the border areas of our country are "unsafe", perhaps it is time to take back what is ours.

Gomp, I am not attacking what you said. In fact, I understand most of it and good points were made.

The end does NOT justify the means.

It is a mistake to believe that we would all be worse off without illegal immigration. I am a history buff but sometimes history needs to remain just that. Using it to justify or dignify the actions of people today who break our laws is faulty logic. If out of the gate you have done something wrong and illegal, any resulting good is moot at best and is generally unsubstantial.

Bernie Madoff donated a lot of money to charity. The charities used the money for good purposes. Conclusion…Bernie Madoff is a good person.

Was the conclusion logical…Yes or No?

The above was an example of inductive reasoning. “Inductive reasoning, also known as induction or inductive logic, is a kind of reasoning that allows for the possibility that the conclusion is false even where all of the premises are true.” The case could be made that the strong induction was used to form the conclusion but we all know that Bernie Madoff is NOT a good person. It is easy to apply inductive reasoning to the ILLEGAL immigration debate.

First-hand experiences are also highly suspect. I too lived in Nevada for a couple of years (early 90’s). To know whether the immigrants were a blessing, a mixed blessing or a curse would depend on knowing whether your experiences were the result of legal or illegal immigration. It also would be the luck of the draw and would be very dependent on the attitude, biases and prejudices of the individual. My experiences were also good but I could see the writing on the walls as the culture of Nevada rapidly changed with the inflow of the immigrants.

There is little argument that illegal immigration has led to abuse and unfair treatment on both sides of border. The stakes are high for the immigrants, for their home countries and for the Unites States.

It is very difficult to turn back the clock on illegal immigration but it is not impossible and might be beneficial to all involved. I am not for amnesty. It was tried by Reagan and here we are again with a bigger problem and horrendous alternatives. If there is going to be justice, it must be swift and blind.

The first step in resolving illegal immigration is electing the proper leadership here. Obama is a fraud and you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. The credibility of our government is at stake. Any laws forged by and signed by Obama are most likely unconstitutional and for the time being should be highly suspect. As for the 14th Amendment, nobody around here should be confused where I stand. The laws must be upheld, an anchor baby is an American citizen. Any change in the law can’t be retroactive. It is what it is in my book.

Gobie,

The post above was strictly in relation to illegal immigrants, as I stated, I have no problem with legal immigration. When I referred to "blessings", that was not a term of endearment, it was sarcasm. One foot out of the Rio Grande without proper documentation, and you are a criminal.

"It is a mistake to believe that we would all be worse off without illegal immigration."

Re read the post, I firmly believe we would be better without illegal immigration, less drugs, less crime, less non tax payers using the system.

"I am not for amnesty."

neither am I.

"The first step in resolving illegal immigration is electing the proper leadership here."

The first step would be making it a life sentence for hiring an illegal, that would be swift and blind, and after the first couple of convictions, the jobs would suddenly dry up, and illegal immigration would stop. Neither party will do it because to much off the book money is involved.

Start at Benito's post and read down, you must have missed my first post with the links on Mexico's actions on illegal immigration which brought about my response about the hypocrisy being displayed by those who endorse illegal immigration, yet treat it differently at their home. So yet again I will reiterate, "first get their own country in order before telling us how to live. We receive so much from those who come here as criminals, and choose to be criminals with our governments blessings as it is. (again sarcasm) "

As to the border region with signs posted for Americans "safety", I say take it back and put down the coyotes and the cartels controlling this American soil and making threats to U.S. law enforcement. Put them down like the dogs they are.

Gomp says...Put them down like the dogs they are.

Sarcasm again?

From the movie Little Miss Sunshine...
Richard: Sarcasm is the refuge of losers.
Frank: [sarcastically] It is? Really?
Richard: Sarcasm is losers trying to bring winners down to their level.
Frank: [sarcastically] Wow, Richard, you've really opened my eyes to what a loser I am. How much do I owe you for those pearls of wisdom?
Richard: Oh, that ones on the house.

I actually enjoy sarcasm Gomp but it has to be recognizable. Sarcasm works but only in small doses dude.

S.Gump: The GOP Mooto "Two wrongs make a Right". The most outrageous racial profile law was AZ SB1070, the one that failed in our US Courts that the proponents claimed was Constitutional. The current GOP wants to decide for you when they will apply the Constitution in the bent minds. Considering that all the numbers of crime are down (even ex-governor Janet Napolitano agrees).

So we have Brewer signing a bill (that she probably did not even read), lying about the crime rates in AZ, and now we find out that she is in the pockets of PRIVATE PRISONS who stand to benefit with the increase Federal jailing.

So quit lying, with your pathelic rhetoric, stand up and be men, no, no I am sorry your leaders are now just Birthers, Baggers and Blowhards and will contine to take the GOP towards obscurity because they are no longer a party of ideas, just of empty suits. Good bye, fawell….

Benito,

I am not a GOP member, and I really have a problem with private at profit prisons, and I am for legal immigration as I stated above.

"So quit lying, with your pathelic rhetoric,"

By that, are you saying there are no crimes committed by those using the illegal methods, no narcotics being muled across the border, no transfer of illegal weapons, no crossing of military installations, no threats to law enforcement and park rangers, no rape of women that are in the groups being led by coyotes, no murders by coyotes, not to mention that pesky old border thingy.

Again I say look to Mexico's treatment of immigrants on her southern border and tell me it is not hypocracy. Can I sneak into Mexico without getting into trouble? don't answer that, I already know the answer, I have been there.

In the last four months Jan Brewer has been caught lying, three times and counting.

The comments made on June 16, 2010, and June 27, 2010, clearly indicates that the Brewer says that immigrants are beheading people in the United States desert. She first ran away from the question and the press when confronted with the question. She finally when to FOX/ FAKE News to recant her lie.

When Brewer was confronted with the fact the two of her top Advisors (Paul Senseman, Chuck Coughlin) are lobbyist for “Private Prisons” giant CCA she first ran away from the question and the press.

In an attempt to gain sympathy, she first said her father had died in Germany fighting the Nazi in World War II (which ended 1945) but of course we find out the truth that her father was never in Germany and died in California in 1955. Do you see a trend here?

Brewer signed into law SB 1070 Bill (Did she even read it?), lied about the crime rates in AZ (even Janet Napolitano knows that all crimes rates went down), and now we find out that she is in the pockets of PRIVATE PRISONS who stand to benefit with the increase Federal jailing, and thus they will pay her back, I wonder if it has to do anything about the fact that her son was transferred to a brand new prison, he was convicted for rape and sexual assault, I guess the fruit does not fall far the tree.
