Man was ahead of his time.
Anyway, yeah. Bill Hicks got that one exactly right.
It's funny, I used to think it was provocative to say that we need a revolution in this country. Or at least I used to feel like I was saying something slightly scandalous or off-color. Now, however, it's just a plain statement of fact. The political system is rotten to the core and beyond fixing. We need some kind of (hopefully peaceful) revolution.
It's the nation's #1 addiction because it claims the minds of people whom doctors, themselves addicted, adjudge sober. Coke and heroin are trivial compared with TV and radio, which provide the ulitmate high (an entire mis-reality populated by fellow addict-sympathizers) at no financial cost.
You think I'm kidding? Try taking away an addict's dope by presenting him with a few hard facts (e.g., Obamacare = Romneycare) and watch the irrational freak-out that contorts the addict in a spasm of denial.
Here's what Hicks had to say about it (in 40 seconds):

And yeah, Fox and Hicks were buddies despite their almost polar-opposite styles. Fox said Hicks would make entire routines out fo material no one else would so much as even mention.
They're establishment fundamentalist zombies. Their degree of denial is so complete they are blind to the destruction of everything that made rest of the world envy the American People . When revolution comes they will support the parasites, they will refuse to admit what they believe in, is absolute bullshit, and they will die by the thousands defending a corrupt criminal system and those who created it.
I don't foresee a peaceful solution, the whole damn country fell over the cliff and is still functioning, kind of, because we haven't crashed into the rocks at the bottom, yet!!
