Thomas Jefferson almost certainly did not have any children with Sally Hemmings. It is a proven genetic fact that the first of Hemming's children was not his. The last of those children carried the Jefferson genes, but the overwhelming evidence points to some other Jefferson, as their own family oral history indicates. To repeat the idea that he had six children with her is to repeat the most obnoxious and easily refuted of lies.

@Jubilee

I have never studied it. I believe you might get more satisfaction by venting your anger in the comments section that goes with the story at the new york times...there are over 600 comments there so I'm sure someone will be willing to argue with you.

Thanks for reading the site and for making a comment. It is appreciated.

Sally Hemings's first child died as an infant. That is why the DNA tests showed no connection to Jefferson The family tested was not part of their family.
