Many great things were said at the CPAC such as what Michelle Bachmann had to say. Too bad your devotees won't hear a balanced message especially one that is moving this country forward. You don't have to fear the truth. I know, they are the same, Nancy Pelosi is Newt Gingrich yadda yadda yadda.
Peter Schiff is right, as usual, but he is too strident. He sounds like a latter day Jeremiah.
He preaches a secularized version of Judeo-Christian economic individual morality which used to be the foundation of the American economic system but which seems to be giving way to conformity, group think and the bureaucratic mentality that goes along with belonging to large organizations such as a large corporation or government. The nightmare extreme of this tendency existed in Russia, China and Germany under totalitarianism.
But Jeremiah was not right because God was sitting in heaven waiting for the right moment to punish the Jews for their immoral behavior, by sending them all to hell. He was right because immoral behavior produces social conditions which cry out for revenge, justice a and a day of reckoning.
Like all men who preach in the wilderness, Schiff has a tendency to exaggerate and raise his voice because very few people are really listening, and those who do listen, listen nervously and with a great deal of distraction and with one eye fixed on the crowd that is moving rapidly towards the cliff.
But then again, it isn't easy to stand alone when everyone else is running towards a cliff. History teaches us that, among other things.
