Peter Fonda is about to get a visit from the Secret Service

Notice Nicholson's football helmet in the photo above...

Does he think the Secret Service doesn't monitor the internet?  I love the guy but he made a huge mistake with this statement.

Snip:

“There’s no room any more for a sissy and, like I said, don’t forget that I’ve got grandsons who I’ve trained with long-distance rifles.”

iPads for kindergarteners?

Some question if this is the best use of taxpayer money. Catherine Adair has children in school at Briggs Elementary. She tells FOX 25, "We have no Vice Principal. We have a very bare bones staff. I don't think kindergartners having iPads is the best expenditure of taxpayer money."

As a presidential candidate, Pawlenty says "No more subsidies, no more special treatment, no more Fannie and Freddie, no more TARP, and no more 'too big to fail,'" reports the Washington Post. However, as John McCain's campaign surrogate and potential vice presidential candidate in 2008, Pawlenty demonstrated that he is all too willing to sacrifice his courage to stand for what he believes in if it means having a chance to become a vice presidential running mate. Further evidence that Pawlenty cannot practice what he preaches: As Minnesota's governor, he signed an executive order to block implementation of Obamacare yet applied for education funds himself and allowed state agencies to accept $10 million in grants allocated by Obamacare.

I never understood the P. Fonda-Hopper blood feud, and have thus avoided P. Fonda stories, even though he's killer in ER.

Might be wise to turn off gas (if you have that service and main electrical breaker if it is the real deal and looking like you will have a direct hit). Go to basement or other sturdy safe place, A bathtub id good too. Cover yourselves with blankets and stay away from windows if any severe weather activity is in your immediate area. Get flashlights, a first aid kit, water and cell phone. If need be a highway underpass or large culvert is a good last resort but only as a last resort. You may have special emergency shelters in the area and need to go there if you are uncomfortable at your current location. If need be turn off you gas service (if you have it) and your main electrical breaker if things are getting bad.

Keep an eye on your local radar and emergency reports. Keep us posted and best of luck....

Note: in any emergency situation your hot water heater can be used at potable water even if the electricity is out or the municipal water mains are damaged. There is a drain located at the bottom of most heaters and up to 50 gallons of potable water is stored inside.

In the event you or anyone else turns off gas service, do not turn it back on without knowing what pilot light(s) may need to be lit. That will most likely be the water heater (instructions are located near the bottom of heater to do this) and possibly other gas operated appliances as well. Call your local utility for assistance if need be.

John, most people neaver think about that stuff.....................When the power gos out, people go Blank...........Ice Storm, twister, what ever. When you leavr home...."Turn Everything Off".......

Many-Many, people lose everything leaving when the lights go out. Turn the Gas, off too......... When the things come back to life in Joplin Mo. is the time when many things go awry.........

Gas is Gas, turn it off. Dont "Booby-Trap" yr home, by blowing it up...... In case of Elec. when you left the Haus, and yr cookin-supper, you will burn it to Charcoal, and burn the house down when the power comes back on....

Very Good Point, John. When you leave your house, Turn Every Thing Off, so its "Off When You Get Home"..........

If the pot of stew is cookin when you left home, it will start Cookin, when the power comes back on. The next thing that happens, when yr not back yeat when the power comes back on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the Microwave catches-fire next..............

You can tell Dar went threw a few "Ice Stroms' here in the Ozarks. The news is all to happy to show how yr place burned down wile you was at the Shelter................
