Obama The Waving Moron - Photo Of The Day

In a group photo with world leaders, Obama's waving hand blocks the face of Mongolia's president — and incites a fresh round of internet ridicule.

Whoops.  A photo of President Obama — taken during his visit this week to the United Nations — is eliciting chuckles worldwide.  In a group shot of world leaders at an Open Government Partnership event, the president "moronically" waves his hand — blocking the face of Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj.

While many people initially suspected that this image was a Photoshop creation, it appears to be the real deal.  Naturally, commentators are cracking wise.  Heres a sampling:

Presidential privilege
"Don't worry about the dude right behind you, Obama," says Dan Amira at New York. "Just go ahead and be the only person to wave to the camera."

Show of hands
"All incompetent leaders who have no clue what you're doing, raise your hand," quips The Jawa Report.

Not his finest moment
Let's just call this "Photo Op FAIL Of The Day: International Not-So-Much-Diplomacy Edition," says Doug Mataconis at Outside the Beltway.

A true portrait
This "gaffe-tastic photo" confirms what we already knew, says Zombie at Pajamas Media. "Our president is a clueless narcissist."

Punk'd?
Maybe, says Kerry Picket at The Washington Times, "the other leaders played a prank and all planned on waving at the same time and then left Mr. Obama waving by himself, while they snickered amongst themselves towards the camera."

A plausible explanation
"Maybe someone was throwing a shoe at the guy," suggests Tommy Christopher at Mediaite. "Or maybe someone waved at the president."

If Barack Obama is going to turn around the nation's economy, he'd better avoid raising taxes, former President Bill Clinton warned this week.

"I personally don't believe we ought to be raising taxes or cutting spending until we get this economy off the ground," Clinton told the conservative site Newsmax. "If we cut government spending, which I normally would be very inclined to do when the deficit's this big, with interest rates already near zero you can't get the benefits out of it.

Obama is one feckless buffoon. Can't we hold the presidential election this November?

That picture is weird.
There are no major world leaders in it, like Cameron, Harper, Merkel or Berlusconi. They may well be UN figures of importance, but the title of the article is misleading, given the absence of most big world players in that picture.
The alleged hand of Obama is stuck there at an odd angle. The lighting and shadows are odd and the people don't look normal, rather, as if they're cutouts pasted together.
I think this picture is photoshopped and a hoax.
I think alternative news sites are as guilty as mainstream for presenting phony photos.

This is clearly a manipulated photo. Didn't anyone notice Ronald Reagan in the back row? He looks pretty healthy for a dead guy.

I don't think that is Ronny Reagan in the back, just a guy with fake hair. Obummer's head was just put on a suit that is far too big for him. But, I think, I can detect Rowan Atkinson in the back.

Sorry to disappoint you...That's not Reagan in the back row and this was not photoshopped. See the link from Yahoo, where this story originated.

You've got so used to looking at fake Osama's in the media that you are no longer able to distinguish one face from another. You think 'looking like someone' is the same thing as actually being them.

It is too photoshopped!
You guys -- or some folks on Yahoo whom you believe -- are shameless, even while I enjoy your reports most times.
Some comments here show that some people are onto photoshop tricks.
It's bad enough that MSM resorts to such phony photos. Reuters is especially delinquent for providing photoshopped pictures to push certain agendas.
You don't have to stoop to such measures to show how lame the Obama admisnistration and the U.S. government are.
