Obama On Sestak: "I Can Assure The Public That Nothing Improper Took Place" (WATCH -- Blames It On Bill Clinton)
UPDATE: The White House is out this morning with a glimpse of their excuse on the Sestak-Specter mini-scandal. And it appears the strategy is a simple one -- blame it on former President Bill Clinton. The New York Times has all the details.
White House Used Bill Clinton to Ask Sestak to Drop Out of Race >>

Video: Runs 40 seconds -- At the BP press conference, President Obama is asked if the White House made any offers to Rep. Joe Sestak to encourage him to drop out of the Senate primary in Pennsylvania against Arlen Specter.
Major Garrett asks:
- "Can you tell the American public, sir, what your White House did or did not offer Congressman Sestak to not enter the Senate primary and how will you convey that answer to satisfy what appears to be bipartisan calls for greater disclosure about that matter?"

Sestak-Gate – Now For the Rest of the Story…from Zarathustra:
Obama was talking in his sleep about Sestak. Sasha overheard her daddy and mentioned it to the WH kitchen staff before leaving for school. The kitchen staff mentioned it to a WH intern at breakfast. She later tweeted it to her friends. One of those friends was Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton saw the tweet and decided to talk to the brother of Setak about the possibility that the dream could mean something. Sestak’s brother told him about the excited call by Bill Clinton and was so distraught he decided to spill the beans during his campaign interviews. Later, a dozen WH legal scholars got together and decided that the truth should be told. Obama and Bill then met for lunch and laughed about the story and how cute Sasha was to worry about her daddy. Clinton told Obama about the 20 pounds he is losing for Chelsea’s wedding and Obama joked that Michelle could lose 20 just off her badonkadonk. Clinton was later overheard muttering, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Bill decided that perjury was his specialty and he wanted to pay it forward for Hillary’s sake. Later that night, a confused Sasha said rather perplexed, daddy, does Bill still plug that hole?

They have been cutting deals since Obama hired Hillary.
If they don't investigate this sad sack of a story, there is no hope.

Republicans are expressing deep skepticism about the just-released statement from the White House on Rep. Joe Sestak’s allegation that the White House offered Sestak a big government job if he would not challenge Sen. Arlen Specter, the White House’s favored candidate in the Pennsylvania Senate primary.
The big question: The White House got Bill Clinton involved for this?
The story that the White House would enlist such a high-ranking emissary — a former president is just about the highest-ranking you can get — to deliver such a meager offer strikes House Republican investigators as highly implausible. “The messenger is huge,” says one investigator, “and the message is puny.” If the White House took the trouble to involve an extremely busy former president, then the issue must have been a pretty high priority.
The bottom line is, the brief White House statement falls far short of laying the Sestak matter to rest. The next move is Sestak’s — we’ll likely hear from him soon. And then Republicans will keep asking the questions they have been asking for three months now. Finally, we’ll have to see whether the Democrats who called on the White House and Sestak to come clean are satisfied by this latest version of events.
When it comes to the continuing Sestak scandal, the White House is up to their eyeballs in a cover-up.
The fact is that Rep. Sestak alleges that a “White House official” spoke to him at the White House. Well, President Clinton may be acting as a surrogate in this matter but, he certainly is NOT a White House official. Who asked Mr. Clinton to speak to Congressman Sestak? Was it the president's chief of staff Rahm Emanuel? Did Mr. Sestak meet with a White House staff member? Who was that person?
It is also very suspicious that President Clinton would have a “private” lunch with President Obama yesterday, just before today's announcement. Surely those two are “circling the wagons” to get their stories straight. Bill Clinton lied before with regard to scandal and he is likely to do it again.
This story is not going away. The American people want answers. It is only a matter of time when the truth will come out.

In espionage parlance, a "cutout" is an intermediary who takes information from one agent to another, possibly not even knowing the content or significance of what he carries. If a cutout is captured or exposed, the others are protected.

Far from clearing the air, the Bauer memo is in fact a smoking gun. "Discussions" of "alternative paths to service" are just a cleverly-disguised update of the favor-based, machine politics imported from Daley's Chicago to Emanuel's Washington, D.C.

Does that mean that Sarah Palin does know more than Obama? Maybe she should be made on of his czars on this kind of stuff.

"It's a crime because they've admitted that they offered this position ... So that begs the real question. Do we believe this is a further cover-up because he's -- they're now talking about a job that President Clinton himself should have known Sestak couldn't take? " he said.
"I don't want to be investigating this. I don't want the White House investigating itself. The FBI or the attorney general should see that it's investigated so the American people can feel they can put this behind them," he said.
