ROFL!! Made my day too. That's a CTV (Canadian Television) reporter in Calgary. Let's see if Cramer can surpass this stupidity...not holding my breath.

Does anyone actually listen to the clip? The commentator referenced Todd Hersh as making that statement.

She's hawt!

Just like I like them pretty, dumb and blond (the dark hair dye threw me off for a second until she opened her pie hole).

F'n hilarious. But, she did hesitate when trying to remember the script, believing her instinct that what she was saying was moronic...

What's even scarier is that this airhead is more "informed" than 99% of the US population. I would guess that 80%+ of our population does not know what the Federal Reserve is or does, or that gold is a shiny metal, which can be found in the periodic table of elements...

She's right, except for the 2000 some years of stability gold is backed by nothing at all. Unlike the dollar which is backed by the stability of the american economy

Hang on everybody.

This reporteress is delivering her lines without an actual understanding of the context of the subject in her report. Given that gold traded currently is not the actual physical gold but a promissory paper denoting the ownership of the potential and probable gold as yet to be found by some company or other, than what she says, would makes sense.

However, her emphasis on the "Dollar" and the government backing it, brings out the the totally bogus, and gives the impression she is busy selling snake oil.

Fact is in the current climate of the corruption, and fraud royale; the only gold, and silver that matter are those stock held under lock and key in your own house.

This is the time for Everyman for himself, trust no one, and believe no one, the bastards are out to rob you blind from your sweat and toil, leaving you nothing other than hunger, and destruction.

You can take a gold coin absolutely anywhere on Earth and exchange it for local currencies or goods, absolutely no problem.

In fact this works so well (because it's been done for millennia) that the British army sews 8 gold sovereigns into the belts of special services personnel working behind enemy lines.

It is funny to me to see the protesters of the Wall Street moguls looking like a bunch of hippies from the 60's. I saw on the news that the protesters were trashing the place, hadn't bathed in days, and the smell of BO and urine surrounded the whole bunch of them. You could never say that about the Tea Party activists who actually KNOW what their positions are, ie reducing the size of big government, returning to Constitutional precepts, and stop the spending of our taxes on CRAP!

Marcia...if you are against the stealth bailouts of Wall Street, than you are on the same side as the protesters you mock.

"I saw on the news that the protesters were trashing the place, hadn't bathed in days, and the smell of BO and urine surrounded the whole bunch of them."

The power that a televised left-right cage match wields over weak minds never ceases to amaze. Here is a drug so powerful that it's convinced the addict that actual odors are coming out of the TV.

It's almost as astounding as the mass hallucination of differences between Obamney and Robama.

If gold had to be backed by a private corporation or a failing government then it would be worthless too. Gold stands on it's own.

gold is the bubble of all time; in a deflation (which we are in), commodities (like gold), and real property go down in value against the dollar; the goldbugs want their ETFs to go up in value; they might for a while, but when the world depression hits, its the US dollar, in cash, that I want! We'll see who's stupid then

@ 70 & Out
If the global economy collapses, you'll be lucky if a wheelbarrow full of Bernanke funny money will buy you a loaf of bread. It's physical gold and silver I would prefer. And as the banks have proved not to be trustworthy, I damn sure would not keep it in a bank safe-deposit box. The courts seem to think, if it's in the banks possession, the bankers can use it however they see fit. If it's under their roof it's in their possession.

Daily Bail has been bookmarked on my very exclusive list.

It brings all a unique combination of facts, relevant current events, stunning controversies of material significance, and an extra heaping of more-necessary-than-ever humor to the table, and has become one of my favorite reads first thing in the morning and throughout the day.

This clip of an imbecilic Main Stream News "reporter," which is symbolic of the intellectual rot listening to or reading the Main Stream Media will cause the recipient, is an epic combination of the humorous and tragic, and an example of why The Daily Bail is now on my speed dial.

Keep up the good work, bitchez!

Was she really THAT stupid?

If one listens to what she is saying, although I won't give her credit for this, one can argue that the US Dollar will be guaranteed, such as when Bernanke guaranteed every dollar on Sept 18th, 2008 as Putnam fell short of being able to redeem money market sales for redemption. And while gold is surely transferable, it can lose 50% of its value and no one will support it.

For those thinking gold and silver will hold-up if the SHTF because they won't confiscate it consider this that has been done in other nations in history. They will make barter in it illegal and send revenue agents out to infiltrate those using it and arrest them for serious felonies with immediate jail sentences. That stops trade and its worth quickly. Or they can offer rewards to those who turn you in for trading in it. Gold is a security for the next generation, not your own. It indeed has far more risk/reward than the US Dollar. If you think that is ludicrous I invite you tell me that you plan to place every penny you have into gold at $1800. You might be a genius, or you might get nailed, which is what I think should happen to her....LOL

The Canadian media is full of such examples - you can go to any TV studio, Press room - all you see is one big fashion and beauty show.

Is this gal actually paid to report on monetary matters? If she had the intelligence to fill a boot with sand I would be surprised. But alas I am not surprised too much after working many years in television news.

As another poster noted, she is earnest - actually believing what she said was the gospel truth. But she is Canadian and the majority of Americans probably agree with her.
