Mocked By Pravda

Can we agree it's a low point when Pravda calls you a Marxist?

I have never before read Pravda, so perhaps the vitriol is normal.  But the Russians really don't care much for us anymore.  I was a teenager in the 80s, and saw the whole track: from Star Wars geo-political tension (the defense shield fantasy that fooled Gorbachev) leading to fears of nuclear armageddon, all the way to the night of the orgasmic crumbling of the Berlin Wall.  It was a hell of a decade for a Cold War education, though I imagine it was a picnic compared to the era of Kruschev's famous shoe and " We will bury you.  We do not have to invade you.  We will destroy you from within."

Here's an excerpt from a recent Pravda editorial about the United States, our bailout culture and descent into Marxism (ouch for honesty):

"First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish."

And that's some of the mild stuff. We have the entire painful (yet mostly true) ass-chewing from Pravda after the loop.  This one is not to be missed.

Here's a few more juicy bits from Pravda:

"These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible.  In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker."

Steven here.  Did the Russkies just call us 'the land of the red?'  I am speechless because they are right.

It's funny, I actually read Pravda from time to time, and if someone were to ask me which newspapers I thought were good, I'd have to include Pravda. Like Steve (The Daily Bail), I also grew up on a steady diet of Cold-War propaganda and it's pretty bizarre to have the Russians AND the Chinese lecturing us about capitalism. And the Czechs ("stimulus" bill = "road to hell"). It would almost be funny.

Obama is "Everyman"....he is all things to all people...depending on whom he is speaking in front of. THAT scares me. Be a left wing nutjob....fine...be in the center.... fine.....but be consistent. I don't want to hear tough talk on terror and radical beliefs in the States while he kisses their butts and bows down to them when he is in their country. No wonder America is so confused in it's identity. Our "leader" can't get it together.........You can't be all things to all people but you have to be SOMETHING.
