I respect Max and yet have a bit of an issue with him.

It's fine to criticize the U.S. and revel in its failures--and there are many. But when you've elected to become an ex-pat and moved to Paris, as Max has done, you've surrendered the right to label Americans "pussies."

Max did that, and he's a hypocrite for it. That will color my judgment of Max until he issues an apology or a retraction.

It's funny how brave people get at a safe distance.

I agree with you cheyenne, and that's why this clip surprised me as well as his speech in front of the crowds in greece where he said the same thing...i assumed keiser had written off the U.S. with his previous highly negative comments, and so was surprised by his pleading for the greeks to help save the US...

I don't think keiser is especially consistent...that can be a problem when your shtick is based on hyperbole, as keiser's is...he ends up saying so many outlandish things to create funny clips that he often forgets what he's said in the past...at least that's how i read him...

And I also don't like when he completely berates the American people...he needs to be more concise and distinguish when he's talking about the clueless 200 million americans versus the 5 or 10 million of us who are far from clueless, paying very close attention and doing everything in our power to fight the good fight...it's an insult to the righteous among us to lump us all under the same 'American Idol and Dancing With Palin' umbrella...

That's the way I see it...

How many americans are going down & performing FELLATIO on the BANKS, CORPORATIONS & the GOV'MENT.
This has given me a bad taste.

This is dumb fearmongering.

The big difference between Greece and USA is that USA can print all the money it needs, Greece cannot. Greece is more like a US state. A US state could go bankrupt but the USA cannot. It can just print more money.

As the saying goes, "Fears the USA will be the next Greece mean America will be the next Japan".

Greece can't print money, Ireland can't, Portugal can't. The ECB can. As can the Fed. As can the BoE.

In the end, you're either an entertainer--a barker--or you speak truth to power. The latter involves real risk--of job loss, professional black-balling, or in the case of Sunny Sheu life itself. The former just involves money, more or less depending on your performance any given night.

The people who do what they do because the burn of truth permits them no other outlet, regardless of cost, are the real heroes: DB, naked capitalism, Barry at the Big Picture, Karl, Mish, zh, Whalen, Ratigan, Santelli, Ed Harrison, Cafferty, whoever--it's a pretty long list--these folks are sticking their necks out with little apparent upside. I'm not saying they don't get paid; but it's certainly not their raison detre. If they do get paid it's a secondary benefit, a collateral by-product of meeting the human need for truth.

Cats like Max and Alex Jones are first and foremost entertainers who are in it for the buck. Maybe that shouldn't make a difference. But it does. It cheapens the language for Max, safely ensconced in a tony Paris flat--whose patents identify his residence as L.A.--to label even one person on American soil a pussy. Go fuck yourself, Keiser, you cowardly pretender.

I take Max for what he's worth, entertainment and the occasional breaking story, nothing more.

Nice comment. And soon you will be able to add your name to the list. With continued hard work and a little luck, your movie is going to make a bigger difference than everyone you mentioned combined. I am convinced of this fact.

Godspeed Cheyenne, godspeed.

By the way, check out the write-up Yves did on the Sunny Sheu story. It's front and center on her site right now.

I saw it. Jesus, is Yves thorough or what?

Her book Econned, by the way, is deliciously good. I love any book that skewers pseudo-science, and she positively goes on a goring rampage that is not to be believed.

Yes, her background work was awesome. I wish I had the luxury of writing just 3 stories per day, but I have to work my ass off for my audience and hers is already built. One day I'll get there and will finally relax, I hope. I've been at it today for 18 hours now minus 2 hours for lunch and dinner.

Anh, I prefer your audience. There are way too many Rhodes Scholars on YS's site. It's ironic given the ass-kicking she lays on eggheads in Econned.

Your site's got humor, without which I couldn't avoid the good-morning gagger.

Cheyenne I always enjoy your comments, you have refreshing and original insight. I agree on kaiser too, he's an entertainer and I never much took what he said seriously because it's the same boring litany over and over. No moral high ground there.
