I know so little of the law so for me to even ask this question may be stupid. But.... Is it not a crime in itself not to keep records? Would that not show proof wrong doing, or if nothing else, Negligence? Either way, as the law quotes over and over and over again "Any reasonable thinking person" A point made in perhaps every case ever present in a court of law, Does any reasonable thinking person think this was an accident or perhaps for other reasonable thinking persons reasons? Either way how do you REASON your way out of that one?

Oh, sorry, I forgot.... I was considering that justice was reasonable in such issues that require the eye's of Justice.. Please pardon my rant DB.

.....@ Dave,...

My Country Music Show was called in by the IRS 3 times in6 years. A guy, was a friend was turnning me in becouse we look;ed like I was making it "HandOver Fist", but was just running a few $ Thousand Dollars in the red. 2 more years i would of been in the black and paying my $$$ Tax's $$$

So, if I had no paper work to show where every penny came from, and went for, the IRS could after interviewing me come up with a Assment of what they, and the guy that was my once friend , thought I was making. Apon him calling them about every 6 mo. and giving them the low down in his words.

Guess all thoes days drinking Coffee at Harddies wasent in my best interest. Then asset a value I owe the IRS, plus any interest and fines they deem fit...$$$$$$$$

Now if I was doing what your talking about, if I had kept records and books on what I was up to, the IRS would see I was cheeting the American People out of Billions & Billions of dollars. If I had nothing on paper to show what I was doing, they "IRS" would have to just Asset a dollar amount what I owed, or took.

The bad guy would get away with Billions of dollars. And that would be after the pay back and fines. So it would be in the Bad Guys best interest to not keep and records and make BILLIONS.

By the way, we went in with a trunk load of box's worth of paper work. All 3 times it was like the movie about Arron Brockavitch.

Ann told them, just tell me what week you want to see. Give me the Year. The Mounth. The week. In each box say 1990 stamped on top was 12 folders. Each folder had a mounth on it. In each folder was 4 smaller folders. Everything we did was in them.

Every penny we took in and every penny we payed out. Ann got real good at it too. Begging them to bring it on.....And that was many years before the movie too........

The PCB was neaver found to of been hidding anything. So much for Bob Krueger and Assumeing I was making a killing on Grand Ol Opry music. So sometimes its best if you have nothing to show for what your doing, or making....?

@Texas Dar. After going through that I see what you mean. Brings me back to one time I spoke with an attorney for over an hour and 1/2 at no charge believe it or not. When I was done he said something I'll never forget. He said "Dave, your problem is this, you believe other people think like you do and play by the rules. Because you dealing with people who don't and are used to not doing so for what ever reason, they will always be at least 7 steps ahead of you.

It's a conundrum. Took me 44 years to get the way I am and according to the "Experts" it will take another 44 to change the way I am. Thats if I work at it every day.

My mother mentioned that the IRS was going to close the doors of a business her and my father built before I was born. Though it always seemed exaggerated to me, I know think it's more believable. At the last minute she said she had to break into her office that was locked out when she lived in Detroit where this happened, and remove and burn all the files because of fear of what they were planning to do.

I can't say that her actions were in the right because I really have little to no knowledge of this. However I have learned in the work I did for many years of my life. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE knows what they are going to do until there in the situation.

Case in point I have been shot at a few times. Of course I was blind stupid lucky or I would not be writing this. The first time I didn't even know what was going on. That was in 1982 on my to Valley High. A kid shot and killed a teacher and wounded two other students. The kid I was walking to school with stood still. I ran like a $2 hooker over obstacles I later looked at as impossible to get over. And I mean literally!

The last time was when I ran to stop the theft of a car from the top of a garage. First responder and I boldly walked up to the car when I saw it was two young kids trying to roll start the thing. No sooner than I challenged them, I was looking right down the barrel of hand gun held by a 12 year old. I thank god he decided not to pull the trigger. Because I didn't exercise proper humility.

I know that a long way around saying, I understand and you never know what your gonna do until your right there. I certainly wish the best for you and everyone who has had such an experience. If were not in the elite with a ton of money as a fire wall from "those people" if you will.

@Texas Dar. Your car is a public place? I can see where insurance companies with BIG MONEY are going to have a F-ing field day with that one. Public place... Right! Until you cause an accident. Thats just for starters. I can see this flying down in flames.

But hey... Another great issue to point out by Ron Paul in the Debates. Right on Ron!! Run Ron Ruuuuunnnnnn!!

DAR & DAVE, If cars are public places, I can enter any auto I choose. This includes the cars of the judges of the APPEALS COURT & their families. I guess we can sit on the hood, trunk & top. How will this work for the judges.

I'm living in Oregon DAMNIT!

Matt Taibbi has always appeared to be a real schmuck...he writes some interesting crap but I would be leary to actually believe more than 50% of his stuff is true. He's sort of the People Magazine for Wall Street wannbes and pimply faux anarchist.

@Westie

Actually, I put him at 95% or better. You might do the same if you did some research on the issues he covers. Before you start running him down you should at least know what the hell your talking about, because he knows what the hell he's talking about.
