Listen To This Tool Sing About His Man Timmy G

Video (song):  Some idiot does his best to fellate Treasury Secretary Geithner

-----

From the toolshed's youtube page:

Stephen Dubner of Freakonomics challenged the readers of his blog (indirectly) to write a supportive song for embattled Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner.  This is my contribution.

Lyrics:

Timothy, Timothy, Treasury Secretary
Knows what to do when it comes to dough
Geithner, Geithner drinks his coffee with whitener
Probably but I dont know.
Yeah we got problems and actually kind of big ones
That makes us miss that thing with the savings and loan.
But my man Tim hes got the skills to the brim
I know he can do it but he cant do it alone.

He came into my life when he was appearing
With his right hand raised at the confirmation hearing
I was sitting at the computer watching streaming CNN
And I knew right then that he was my man, oh yeah.

His face is too long but his smile is great
And his forehead is high and his taxes were late
Pricing toxic assets at realistic market rates
May be what they do in Sweden but not in the United States.

And its funny how the stock market goes down every day
that my man Timmy G has something to say
But people tell me not to think that way, they say:
They dont know whats good for them at the DJIA
And thats cool, I guess, but the moneys still gone away,
and my dads hair is getting more and more gray,
and theres less and less money in his 401k,
and I dont even know what that is because Im 23,
but it sounds scary

Timothy, Timothy, Treasury Secretary
Is making it up as he goes along
Geithner, Geithner only rhymes with whitener
And thats the only reason I put it in this song.
Yeah we got problems and actually really big ones
And maybe I shouldnt be making fun.
Cause Tim is really smart and hes got a big heart
And at least hes not Henry Paulson.

ROFL! I LOVE it when the DB lashes out with captions like that. Specially in the case of Kit Stevens here. Undeniably well-deserved, thank you!

I hope this is just a kid trying to learn how to do satire.

Bizarre. Maybe it's supposed to be satire. Maybe it's just some kid trying to sound like "contemporary folk/alternative" or whatever. Well, he's got one thing right, Timmy's just "making it up as he goes along".

it's not satire, sadly...it's real..it was his entry in paul krugman's contest to write a positive song about turbo...

Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable.

the kid doesn't know the issues but he believes the wall street fear-mongering....and so he naturally assumes geithner is doing good work and all the right things to turn the economy around....
