Jeff Macke Shows Signs Of Battle Fatigue (CNBC Video)

Flashback - Jeff Macke's final appearance on CNBC, though he did not know it at the time.

Presented without comment.

Update: Gawker put together a short clip that includes snippets from recent appearances by Macke.  It's some bizarre stuff.  Also Clusterstock is reporting that Macke is done with Fort Lee and his contract will not be renewed by CNBC.

I'm covering the Macke story because the guy is solid.  He makes me laugh more than any other face on bubblevision AND he tells the truth.  He didn't sleep the night before his on-air meltdown (check his minyanville column from that same day for some punch-drunk non-sequiter brilliance).

I always though Macke was an idiot. I think the only smart person on the fast money team is Finnerman. She is usually short and thats where the smart money is. So Bye bye cone head Macke.

I disagree, Mackie WANTS to believe in the markets BADLY. However, he has been pulled kicking and screaming into the reality that the markets are rigged and he simply just can't fight the Fed. You see him coming to grips with this "new" reality in real time on CNBC. It's like watching a train wreck....you know it's coming, will be painful to witness, but you still want to see the final carnage..... just the same. AB

I too am a Mackie aficionado. He's one of a handful appearing on CNBC worth listening to (and that number is declining daily). So he's having a bad day. Big deal. I suspect if he had been muttering on about a bullish thesis he would have been showered with widespread kudos and been touted as the latest 'Green Shoot' on Marketwatch & Bloomberg.

I'm glad Mackie's cracking up. The universal truth that Nature will see that everyone gets what's coming to them, good or bad, still holds. When I started watching this arrogant, selfish, boorish, crazy, fat-faced pig egomaniac six months ago, I knew this idiotic wouldn't be allowed to last. He is an offense to the human race. He's constantly bragging (those who brag feel very small inside) about his supposed intelligence and weath and belittling others who he sees as less than. He's nothing but a big child nerd desperately trying to avenge his childhood when he was teased, ridiculed, and bullied and now has lost it. This video is hillarious! I luv the cone head comment - it's so true, lol. Every time I see this fatso on tv, I keep thinking he will, at any minute, pull out the KFC from under the counter and stuff his face spitting out bits of chicken everywhere. If he did, at least he'd finally be doing something useful and real.

@Fox

It's always good to hear differing opinions. Your stuff made me laugh even if I don't agree with it. Thanks for posting.

Jeff was always one of my favorites on FAST MONEY its obvious that he is having some sort of psychotic breakdown. If you think its funny you should evaluate your heart because you have no compassion.

Tony...i am compassionate...and i love Jeff...it was riight after lunch...i think he had just a few too many cocktails...plus he hadn't slept...i don't think this was a psychotic breakdown...

Dear THEDAILYBAIL my comments about a lack of compassion were directed at Investor Fox. I never found Mr. Mackie arrogant: cocky for sure but not proudfully arrogant...The Daily Bail is a service to mankind and your efforts are very much supported by me. My point is that Mr. Mackie appears to be suffering from mental illness...I sensed that he is suffering and did not to need be on television. If it was some sort of joke or he was drunk then Mr Mackie still certainly has some sort of issue. With 20 million Americans out of work, millions straving is it a great tragedy, no but Jeff has a human face and that is how it struck me.
But I want to make it clear that your website is a service and it takes courage to attack the most powerful people on the planet...the bankers and the politicians that give them cover. My thanks go to you for your service and education you have performed for me as a person. Tony

Stress slams.

Even absent stress sometimes things come out dumb.

How nice we're a forgiving people.

How nice there's always valium or simply some Sangria (with a dash of rum
--I don't think Macke really needs Prozac)
to help calm us down in a pinch.
