Bloomberg Video:  Grant torches Greenspan -- April 7, 2010

Two minutes of Indiana University graduate James Grant's understated sarcastic brilliance.  Guaranteed to make you smile.

  • "Here's the book on Alan Greenspan.  He thinks what everyone else thinks, but one fiscal quarter later."
  • "He is a front-running momentum type of guy and the Street is full of them.  He is JUST a guy in a business suit.  That's Alan Greenspan."

I hope that the correction that Jim Rogers keeps talking about hasn't started today.

why are you hoping it hasn't started...?

i personally think we will run to 11,300 on the Dow...squeeze the remaining shorts and then we fall back to 10,000 over the course of the year as the economy gets much weaker without the stimulus...

DB...great question...you know...I don't know what to hope for. A crash back to reality might mean a lot of sadness for many. I would gladly take your prediction but Roger's warns that they won't be able to paper over next one. I have my pantry full of canned food. I have an emergency bag already packed that is always ready to go at a moments notice. This may sound crazy but I even have at least a years worth of dog food, medicine and other staples. In the past, I only a 2 to 3 month supply of food and six months of meds for my dog. Who knows what will happen when the shit hits the fan.

if we keep running up to the old highs then i agree with rogers that the crash will be severe from there...if we stop before 11,500 then the ride down won't be so bad...

it really all depends on whether the PPT and Fed support the market illegally...

I DO.

I want to see the earth open up and swallow the entire Wall St financial district into its gaping bowels. I want to see an asteroid land smack-fucking-dab in the middle of Washington DC.
Only AFTER two angels come to rescue Ron Paul, Nancy Kaptur, Alan Grayson and a handful of others, that is.

Then I want to see that -due to too many people standing on the California coastline- the entire country starts to tilt westward and then eventually sinks.
