Instead Of Prison, Bernanke Given New Term As Fed Overlord (VIDEO)

Video:  Dylan Ratigan with Senator Bernie Sanders -- January 28, 2010

Senate Roll Call:  How members voted on Bernanke  >>

---

"Ben Bernanke just received 4 more years as your Federal Reserve chief.  The Senate confirming him by a vote of 70-30.  After providing cheap money for years, inflating the housing bubble and then delivering an infinte suppy of money after the collapse that recapitalized Wall Street while depriving America of trillions of dollars in investment, your U.S. Senate believes HE'S THE BEST MAN to run the Federal Reserve for the next 4 years...the biggest and most powerful and most secretive bank in the world, the Federal Reserve."

"Let's be very clear, Dylan.  Wall Street has enormous power here on Capitol Hill.  Bernanke is their guy and Wall Street usually gets what they want.  What makes me particularly sad is that the White House ALSO pulled out all the stops for Bernanke's reappointment."

"The American people can NOT understand how the Fed can lend out TRILLIONS to large, financial institutions and we don not know the names of the organizations that received the money.  The fight for Fed transparency is going to continue."

Can you feel the campaign coffers filling for November yet?

Follow the money and see if the squeekiest wheels get greased now.

Now we just have to wait for the newly allowed campaign infomercials to guide us to the land of "milk and honey".

Corporate Corruption Killing America

By Joel S. Hirschhorn

September 15, 2009 "Information Clearing House" --
Anyone smart and strong enough to fight delusional thinking and who pays attention to current events should clearly see that corporate corruption of the US political system is so pervasive and powerful that there will be no genuine reform of both the health care and financial sectors.

I always believed that president Obama was just a different color corrupt politician who was subservient to the two-party plutocracy. His so-called reform efforts and ludicrous federal deficit spending should disappoint all his non-delusional supporters.

For health reform the only genuine and sensible reform legislation should have been not much more than a single sentence mandating that every American has a right to full Medicare coverage. Period. End of story. True reform. True universal health insurance.

Let the health insurance industry sell their garbage to those choosing it over Medicare and as supplemental insurance, as is done today, to cover what Medicare does not. The one major reason why the US spends more of its wealth on health care than any other nation, but with lousy results for the population as a whole is that so many Americans and their employers buy costly private health insurance. Some things essential for human survival require government programs, like police and fire protection. The overwhelming opinion of those in Medicare is very positive. In fact it is far more positive than those using private health insurance.

But the health insurance industry and others have successfully corrupted Congress and brainwashed much of the population to fear true reforms. Sure, Congress will pass some legislation that Obama will sign and they all will claim victory. But the nation will not get true reforms and health care spending will continue to rise and bankrupt the nation.

And now we also are learning slowly that the financial sector that tanked our economy by pursuing enormously risky but profitable business practices and then was bailed out by the government has not learned any lessons. Banks and all kinds of financial companies are still pursuing risky businesses, still overpaying their top executives and still screwing consumers. Congress is unlikely to pass really tough regulations to put a halt to all the awful practices by financial companies. Why? Because Congress has been corrupted by money from this financial sector.

Make no mistake: Corporate corruption is a true bipartisan effort, perhaps the most bipartisan enterprise.

Obama is no more of a real reformer than any Republican. That so many on the far right think he is a socialist is laughable. He is nothing more than a defender of the corporate-owned two-party plutocracy. To see anything else is pure delusion. The US is being flushed away. A populist Second American Revolution is the only way to save the nation. It will not come from the efforts of anyone that is a Democrat or Republican.

Wake up America! Voting for Democrats or Republicans just perpetuates this corrupt system. They fiddled while Rome burned; we borrow while America sinks.

For the record the vote was actually 77-23 and here's a list of the weasels who voted "yes" on the clocture and "no" on the actual vote:

BOXER, Barbara (D-CA)
DORGAN, Byron L. (D-ND)
FRANKEN, Al (D-MN)
HARKIN, Tom (D-IA)
KAUFMAN, Edward E. (D-DE)
WHITEHOUSE, Sheldon (D-RI)
LeMIEUX, George S. (R-FL)

Obama: Proven Coward and Liar (Throws Muslims Under the Bus)
By wingedhussar1683

“That’s not a man–take it away.”
Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe, with regard to Sergeant Obadiah Hakeswill

Someone who runs or hides from an obligation instead of standing behind his principles is a coward. Someone who says one thing and then does the opposite is a liar. Barack Obama’s recent treatment of Muslim-American voters, in conjunction with his own broken promise from The Audacity of Hope, proves him a coward and a liar.

Famous Thomas Jefferson Quote

"If the American people ever allow private banks
to control the issue of their money,
first by inflation and then by deflation,
the banks and corporations that will
grow up around them (around the banks),
will deprive the people of their property
until their children will wake up homeless
on the continent their fathers conquered."

http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Thomas.Jefferson.Quote.CA94

Andrew Jackson quotes:
Gentlemen, I have had men watching you for a long time and I am convinced that you have used the funds of the bank to speculate in the breadstuffs of the country. When you won, you divided the profits amongst you, and when you lost, you charged it to the bank. You tell me that if I take the deposits from the bank and annul its charter, I shall ruin ten thousand families. That may be true, gentlemen, but that is your sin! Should I let you go on, you will ruin fifty thousand families, and that would be my sin! You are a den of vipers and thieves.

I presume we are talking about mudbugs?

“Nice to be on a Farm away from Big city Depressing slums”

I have never seen anyone on the farm this agitated, are you sure you know what you are doing Ken?

Have you ever given any thought to where your path of revolt leads? That path is simple to see. Revolt will lead to anarchy, out of anarchy feudalism will arise, out of feudalism the death of liberty will be sealed.

Some would do well in feudal times, and I would probably be one of them. But many are not as generous as I. So for the majority, life would be no better than death.

We have the ability to take back our nation if the people would just desire to, but they obviously don’t, and crazy talk, people just tend to run away from.

So my question to you is, what are your true motives Ken? We have a legitimate path to change, and the people watch as the courts create artificial persons, the dollar is destroyed, pay offs and corruption in the highest of places…

What a shame that most of our nation hasn't addressed the single issue that will determine if the US continues to exist as a functioning entity. I know this immediately causes a negative reaction for even hinting that the US is at such a critical juncture. But it is. The Roman empire foundered in seven short years in the 3rd Century AD. The collapse came as a result of an implosion in the empire's currency. The original Denarius, the pay for one day for a Roman soldier, deteriorated to 1/25th of its original value by 301 AD. In the next 5 years it had deteriorated to 1/1000th of that. Within 3 more years it had ceased to exist.

Since 1913 the US dollar has lost over 95% of its 1913 buying power. It too is now worth approx. 1/25th of it's original value. Given the staggering deficits now being incurred and the projected multiplication of the US national debt in the next 3 years, the dollar as we know it will follow the denarius into oblivion. The key is that Rome's economic collapse caused political chaos. There were 48 Emperors in the last 1/3rd of the 3rd century.

The swiftness of the collapse resulted from what is called the cascade effect. Like a ship capsizing, the inherent stability of the vessel will allow a slow heeling over to one side until a tipping point is reached. Once the ship's center of gravity moves past the ships base the roll accelerates and the vessel capsizes in minutes. Economically this is true as well. The US is now just about at the tipping point. As the Federal Reserve has to buy ever increasing amounts of US debt that no one else will buy, the process of dollar devaluation will pick up speed. The 2010 elections will probably reflect this in political turmoil.

I think most are either ignorant of this deadly process or simply refuse to accept that a nation, once the world's most economically powerful, can fall victim to its own political incompetence so swiftly. The Romans didn't believe it either.

Yet as this plays out, even as the Captains are leaving the ship, the people stand in silence as the band plays on…

This is America Ken, and if the majority wish to destroy this once great nation, they will. I am sure you have even seen some here state that they hope it fails. EVEN THEY DO NOT KNOW THE RAMIFICATIONS OF THAT WHICH THEY SPEAK.

So settle in and enjoy the ride, if we pass the tipping point, we will really accelerate. The will of the people, is the will of the people. If you can’t get one person to vote against their “extra special, divinely ordained free pass voting Senator”, what chance do we have.

Soon we will hear the roar of the artificial persons, and all will all be better again (sarcasm).

As to me, “Wait till they get a load of me”, I love this movie.

Ken,

The media will not accept anything contrary to the glory of globalism and outsourcing and campaign finance. which puts a lot of fiat currency in their pockets.

The media even loves the Sublime court ruling that just passed to give artificial persons greater rights in society than natural persons. Imagine how much money they will make broadcasting 2 hour political infomercials...

Everybody knows what is happening, they just don't want to believe it. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot force him to drink, or leave a burning barn for that matter. If you are on a farm you should know that.

Thank you for sounding civilized this time.

RR,

DB,

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. The Cloture vote was the one that mattered. After America's fate was sealed, 7 weasels came out and said "now that it doesn't matter, I'm against Bernanke."

Those 7 (Boxer, Franken etc.) are going to try and sell voters that they opposed Bernanke. Bullshit.

I won't let people forget that when it mattered, they turned their backs.
